Just wondering if anyone knows the quarter mile times for a stock VY SS auto?
Does 0-100 in 7.17 seconds and
1/4 mile in 15.28 @ 148.8 km/h
Sound about right?
Just wanting to know as tried this iPhone app Dinolocious and just wanted to see how close it is, I know against the track times is the proper way, just interested that's all.
i think its around mid 14's
yeah, i'd say mid 14's
Chev badges are an instant fail
Oh ok so not to bad then, it said 161kw as well with bout 90- 95% throttle, cars pulling bout 184rwkw on a dyno.
I'll try again with full throttle if I can, close enough for me though as an estimate.
stock vy ss runs in the 15's
yeh will have to go to the track and see what i get there then compare it, first one i tried with it i had the auto in normal mode and backed of early then put it in power mode and i backed of a little at the end but not much, but will give it another crack. wasn't sure what they run standard, had a look in the time slips section but couldn't find one for a ls1.
If they run in the 15's then virtually on par.
i'll be seeing what i can pull out of the hat next sunday down at heathcote....
be interesting to see what a vx ss m6 can do
Chev badges are an instant fail
Yeh I wouldn't mind going to Calder one night/day just to see what it actually does, anyone know if it's still on or when? Have heard it is and heard it isn't.
your ss wouldn't be stock if it's running 13's, an ss with a mafless tune is just hitting very high 13 flat 14
my WH caprice when it was a bog stocker ran a 14.2@98mph, and its alot heavier than your SS so id say you would get around a 14 flat
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
When your cam goes in it will be low 12s![]()
Experience is a hard teacher. First you get the test, then you get the lesson.
just got to stop being lazy and put it in haha although now with the fuel prices going up and the Aussie dollar so strong against the American dollar thinking of going a slightly bigger cam, putting some fresh pistons and rods in and doing the heads. As its definitely not going to be a daily anymore and only see weekends and long trips, talking to a couple of places to get some ideas.
And when i buy a house it definitely wont be a daily drive car as wont be as close to work as i am now, i have a 4cyl i drive to work atm so thinking of finding out what parts i need and sourcing them from the states as its cheaper than here atm and go the full lot over winter, will know in the next week or so which direction i'm going after discussions with a couple of places.

Err... It isn't going to make .2 of a second difference down the 1/4mile. And the engine is still standard.
Standard cam, compression, heads. A set of pipes isn't going to make much difference. Herp herp.
still doesn't make it a stocker now does it. if pipes make no difference then why is it the first mod everybody does on a LSx motor?

Take it easy...But do take it...
Do not argue with an IDIOT.
He will just drag you down to his level an beat you with experience.
Some people take me the wrong way, Like smacking up Marijunna.
Wowzerz, Nemisis is picking on the v6 forum again. Your a bad bad man, lol.
The motor is standard untill you;
A: play with the tune.
B: change something internally, be it a the bottom or top end.
Changing an airfilter or exhaust system doesn't change the fact that its a standard motor.
