Default Installing OTR without MAFless tune?

What sort of bad things happen if you install a MAFless OTR onto a car that hasn't been tuned for it? I more or less want to just fit mine up before I go to the tuner.

Well your car will run like shit EDIT>> (limp home mode) << EDIT because it need's the maf to tell it airflow an what not, you can get OTR's that run the maf as i had one on my ss before i got a ramjet an mafles tune.
EDIT: I just remembered the ramjet can be ordered to run a maf or mafless.

It wont run, your car requires air flow through the Maf as it is a vital sensor for the engine to operate.

I found this out the other day. My car started then died within 2 seconds.

Oh well thanks for clearing that up for me, looks like I'll leave it to those guys to fit. I'd just read that when the MAF is disconnected it goes into a limp mode using the MAP sensor to work things out - obviously this is wrong!

It should go into limp home mode, They did this so if the maf failed you could still get it to a safe place.

Different engine i know, but my l67 runs with no maf, just feels rough and the engine light comes on. I found this out when I forgot to plug it in one day.

The only thing is I wouldnt give it a hard time in case it leans out

    It wont lean out.
The PCM will revert to a rich VE table and low advance. You'll just use a tonne of fuel and make no power.
