What sort of power will the standard T56 clutch take? I'm heading up to Brisbane in a few weeks to get a cam and tune done (expected 300rwkw+) and I'm a bit worried that the stocker won't be up to the challenge.
she wont last long mate. just start putting money aside for an new heavyer one!
plenty of good clutch out nowa days. i have a Tex Z sinlge and it has been great. but now i have more cubies and power, i will be upgrading shortly when it dies to a twin plate.
whats the future plans for the ute?
want to see more then a typical commodore fitted with an exhuast, then check my thread out... link broken cuase i dont own a tuff car, i just made it up...
It all comes down to how you drive it. You can drive a standard clutch with alot more power than that and it'll live. When it dies, put a better one in though.
218/233 112 LSA cam, Duspeed OTR, Tune, and then I'm going to weld the bonnet shut for 6 months. How does the Tex Z single feel?
It feels like a performance clutch. Don't buy one and drive it soft daily, all you'll do is end up complaining about shudder and harshness. It is a racing clutch, and one of the best single plate clutches around for an LSx engine. If you baby it, it will punish you. If you drive it the way it should be driven it'll work very well. I give mine absolute crap and with around 500rwkw it still holds on strong.
So say I thrash the bejesus out of my ute, I should be happy with a Z grip?
Nem to the rescue, once again!
