howdy peeps,
well my ls3 is in its final stages now...just went over to the shop just before to hear it and man its loud but its soo nice, pure sex really..
but i knw its too loud n wil cop attention, so here it goes... ive got pacemakers 4-1's highflow cats, pacemaker mufflers into twin 2.5" straight pipe.... i knw i will need to add a resi at the back but is that all ? what types are good?
thanks
Edit: will need some good advice by tonight will be changing it 2mw since its still in the shop might aswell do it
Why don't you ask the people at the exhaust shop? I reckon they'd have a pretty good idea...
yeh i knw, will be ringing in the morning...just more wanting to knw what kinda mufflers people are using these days
I'm using a massive muffler from a truck. Seems to keep mine pretty quiet. No idea what brand it is though.
yeh, i just want it abit more quiet on idle/cruisng around 60k's still want that roar when u open it up, ill see what they say in the morning
I might be shot down in flames over this, but my X-force exhaust is roughly stock sounding on idle and CRAZY LOUD when you up it - maybe have a look at their resonators? Middle muffler is straight through design, so is the back.
Straight pipe as in, no mufflers from the cats back? no hotdog resonators, no cannons, just 2.5" pipe and nothing more?
Put 2 good sports mufflers in the middle and call it a day (one either side just after the cats, so one per bank of 4 cylinders), 'tis what i have on my stato (albeit ls1). And get told my car is quite loud? it's pretty good at cruising speed but if you open it up you know about it (and so does the neighbourhood)

ive just got 2 mufflers in the middle, but nothing after that
Have you got an X pipe? That quietens them down a fair bit too.
I got a muffler for my car that was to suit a rotary, so it has made a big difference to the noise levels. But was not cheap.
A member here, Sphinx, got EPAed and had to quieten his exhaust down. He Frankensteined up an exhaust with, I believe he said it was a motorbike muffler. Not sure how it would go performance wise, however it did reduce the sound a bit.
