Hey Gurus.
I have a gen 3 motor with a cam in it and about to supercharge it.
I have a powerdyne charger thats been upgrade to run 8 to 10 psi. I will proble only run 5 to 6 psi as im only looking for around 350 to 360 rwkw. I currently have 270rwkw on mild tune.
Anyways my question is. Im getting 60lb injectors but im not sure what fuel pump too get. I know theres bosch 044, surge tanks, or just a intank one. But whats gonna handle what i need?. I wanna try stay away from a surge tank. ive been capa has a intank pump that can handle 640hp?
Any help would be great
For starters, if you think you are going to get 350-360rwkw from a powerdyne charged LS1, you are going to be disappointed. Try 300rwkw.
A single Walbro 255lph will be plenty of fuel for what you require. No need to worry about surge tanks and external pumps, you'll get near 400rwkw with a Walbro alone.
I know alot of people dont think the powerdyne charger isnt great. But the guys a raptors have but a new impeller and bearings in it to get it to run 7 to 8 psi safely. Its nearly as good as the entry vortech. Will see what happens. Im not that fussed on power. The charger is there only to sound good. Well ill look at getting a walbro if you say it will handle 360rwkw
Thats good to know, but I also think Raptop and entry Vortech are shit and will struggle to get over 300rwkw
It will handle it easily. I did 310rwkw with a stock standard fuel pump and know people that have done 400rwkw with turbo LS1's on a single Walbro 255lph.
Personally i think superchargers dont make as much power as a head and cam package. As i got the ideal cam in my car already i tho id try the supercharger. I talk to the guy at raptors and he said i could proble only run 5 psi. so i dont really wanna spend that much money on good charger as get 320rwkw and be disappionted. But i only payed 3 grand for it rebuilt with a new steering pump ready to go on. Why not. Well i defently get the walbro as its easier and a hell lot less nosier then the bosch!
Just make sure you get a genuine one. There are plenty of knock off Walbro's around and you wont know it until they start screaming on a hot day or die completely.
Yer ill make sure i get a genuine one. If a make 300 rwkw or abit more at least i wont break anything!. Its only a weekend so noo matter what power ill get ill be happy with it. Thanks for the help
I made 330rwkw with a raptor blower running 5psi and a vcm 5sc cam. I only ran 42psi injectors and an intank walbro. I ended up ditching the set up and going turbo. But while it was on I enjoyed it. You should make around 330rwkw

Awesome thats good to hear. So should i stick to 42lb or just get 60lb just cus a can? and il just the walbro pump then. Ive had turbo cars and really want to try a charger. Without breaking things. Sounds like things are fallign into place now :P
Go the 60's. No real reason why you shouldn't, they pulse low enough to idle fine on a stock cammed car. I like the idea of having extra injectors just in case you want to up the power later, saves buying things twice.
Yer I tho you could run 60 lb on a car that runs around 300 rwkw. Just don't wanna have the car running lean. I always like em running abit more richer. So the fuel systems gonna be siemens deka 60 lb injectors. And a walbro 255. Could I got a Bosch 040? Just outta curiosity
I haven't used an 040 so I can't really comment. I know the Walbro will drop straight in and work, so that is my recommendation.
I'll just stick the the walbro.
what cam you runnin now?
If your gonna run an 044 u might as well do a full fuel system. If you just keep intank you can maintain stock rails etc . Otherwise go surge and 044 and aftermarket rails and reg. I spent 3k on my system and I'll never run out of fuel. I'm running two 044s. 2L surge and dash 8 200 series speedflow and turbosmart reg with 60lb Dekka injectors. Overkill but plenty of room to move

I have a Howard cam in it. I can't remember the specs on it but I can tell ya. I havnt really got that much money at the moment so I can't really do a full fuel system. I kno il proble only hey 350 rwkw max so I'm happy just to get a fuel pump to handle that power. And I think the Bosch 040 is s intank pump. Rated at 550 or 600 hp? I'm not sure
Keep in mind the pumps rated power is calculated with the BSFC% to suit naturally aspirated use.
Yer that's true. So you think the walbro will handle what I'm looking for? Just don't really want spend over 1000 on the fuel system.
I have recommended it a few times in this thread for good reason![]()
All I ran was a walbro intank to achieve the 330rwkw

Ahh ok sounds good. The bosch 040 looks tempting and the bosch 023
. But theres alot of guys saying the walbro is a great pump. Im gonna talk to my mechanic on saturday anyways too see what he thinks about this pumps. Thanks for the help. Given me something to look at getting
Ohh and i got the cam numbers. I lost my sheet that came with it. But this numbers are the same or very simular.
As advertised @ .050 Valve lift lobe seperation
272 278 216 224 .553 .533 117
270rwkw is pretty big power for such a little cam, and for that reason, I'm not convinced.
