The valet switch

Hey guys,

Just wondering where do most people mount valet switches for fuel cut option in the ecu??
I have just recently purchased a vehicle that had this enabled and as such the engine would cut out before it changed gears which was annoying to say the least.. After my tuner had a look at the program he found it had the valet switch enabled yet we couldn't find it anywhere. We increased the valet limit to the same as the normal rpm limit and now its ok but would be handy to know where it is after all.

If anyone has any idea where these are 'normally' placed or any ideas of where I could look it would be greatly appreciated.

Usually it has to be plugged into the OBDII port under the steering column... check if anything is plugged in to it

they would of found that when the tuner pluged in the dongle to modify the tune
