Anyone bought a engine from spencer race engines.

I been looking around for the best option for my vk ls1 turbo setup, motor wise. The ls1 i have is out of a clubsport with 170 000kms on it (doubt it will last long with a gt42 pumping boost into it) SO while my car is getting painted i wanted to give her a bit of a over haul with cam and forgies and what not. While looking for parts i came across this. A 383 stroker long engine with the goodies in there for $7500 + change over of my motor. Correct me if i am wrong but this seems like a fairly good deal to me. Has anyone bought or knows of some that has bought and engine from spencer race engines? Any good? And dont give me the ls2 or ls3 bullshit. if i wanted a ls3 or ls2 i would have one. i got all the parts for a ls1 conversion so i am not changing to a ls2 or 3

Yea mate talked to him the other day. 7500 for high comp 7900 for low comp . Change over engine, you send your ls1 and they send a stroker engine back. Seems like a pretty good deal. I think he said a extra 1500 for a iron block. I think i will get one once my leg is not broken and I am back at work.

Iron blocks are 4" bore, so you wouldn't do a 383ci

SRE have been around a long time in geelong, they have done V8 supercar stuff and have been building tuff engines for a while now. Amazed not people know there work.

Yea I have read a fair bit about them. Just have never spoken to anyone that's owned one of there engines. I was speaking to Chris spencer on the phone last week and he seems like a fair dinkem no bullshit sort of bloke that's willing to spend the time to satisfy his customers. Will defiantly be getting my business in the near future.
