If your ls1 is from a vx onwards it already has a ls6 manifold. If its from a vt it will have the old ls1 manifold. It's a easy job just take injectors and rails off throttle body off take manifold bolts out remove manifold and replace with new one. Be sure to check all the gaskets.

Before you go and buy a LS6 manifold.... just check your part no# by looking at the middle of the manifold on the passenger side and look at the serial number.

    LS1 prt #'s 12560688. & 12556333.

    LS6 prt #'s 12573572, & 88894339
    12561184 & 12561182

my current intake part # 12560894 - Am i correct to assume it's still factory LS1 intake system?

Also i found this part number in the middle of the manifold only it was on the driver's side & not the passenger's side.

What kind of power gains in KW's would one expect from doing this mod/conversion?

Or you could not put the LS6 one on, and consider a Victor Jr and 4BBL....
