    Default head and cam reliability ?

    hey guys im looking at buying a vz ss. ive been looking at head and cam packages and was wondering how reliable the ls1's are once the have been cammed, it will be my daily/ family car so it needs to be ok for highway use or long drives.

    Mate it should be fine as long as it has been looked after, there are a heap of cammed an head daily driven ls1's running 280+rwkw on here.

    If it is cammed properly it shouldn't be any less reliable than standard. Hitting the high RPM's more frequently will obviously increase wear, but that is the same with a standard cam. You might just feel the need to do it more often...
