Default 2005 VZ SS Exhaust HELP PLZ !!!

    Hey Guys

I currently own a 2005 vz ss 5.7l im looking at getting it tuned and doin the exhaust system, currently it has a 2.5"
walkinshaw catback, walkinshaw cold air intake i was looking at getting Difilippo 4-1 headers and Hi flow catalytic converter
and a permormace tune by HPF they think it will set me back $1900 for the headers and catalytic converter fitted and $880
for the tune, if anyone could give me any advice or suggestions that would be sick.

PS This is my first post.

    Cheers

The prices seem good but for the headers and cats you could shop around for a different brand and get them cheaper

    Welcome Benny,
Prices on the dfillipo are pretty good there, however theres still alot of other choices around. i would suggest you jump on the ls1 forum and ask around there, the boys will look after, they have a couple of exhaust places that are forum sponsors and will look after members, personally I am a fan of the sureflo systems, based out of sydney but will ship to your door. I run sureflo short 4-1's into 100cpsi ballistic cats into a m/s 3.5" single with a varex muffler on my SS, total cost was a bit more than you are stating above but in my opinion, they are the best cats around, have no height issues, sounds mint no drone ever, noticable seat of the pants power improvements before i re-tuned, even moreso after tune. Obviously the varex inflated the price, leave that out and you would be back to around the $1900 mark.

edit: and for the tune, I got my first tune done at the same time as a VCM otr, $900 for both, from a tuner with a lot of respect in the LS1 circles. once again, ask around on the LS1 forums.

id stick with the difilippo extractors and cats for sure and 880 is a average price for a tune should go great after

I got a set of stainless X-force 4 into 1's and high flow cats on my VZ. Sounds amazing IMO. Cheaper option than the difilipo.
Just something to think about ...
