Hi there, I'm obviously a new member here and I joined because I've read around and there are several members that really know their mods and love what they're doing.
Here's the deal...
The car:
** A Commodore SS VZ (it's actually it's twin sister the Chevrolet Lumina SS - Gulf Spec - basically it's the American counterpart to Holden's Commodore SS).
** '06 model, 5.7L V8 engine
The mods:
All it has got is a cat back exhaust system
What I need:
I would appreciate any advice and information (companies, sites, shops, the price range I'd be looking at for each mod) related to performance mods I can buy for the car.
I'm considering getting a OTRCAI system, (OTR because they seem to be the better choice), probably an ECU to fine tune the cars performance, decent ceramic headers and last but not least a decent supercharger that'll give me the most bang for my buck.
I've looked around the net and googled the mods I'm interested in getting with no meaningful search results.. until I found you guys on this forum!
PLEASE help me out here! Any tips/advice on what mods to get and also what not to do to the car.
Also, if I were to supercharge it, would I be required to buy a new exhaust system to bring back the airflow that the cars supercharged engine so desperately needs to perform well?
THANKS in advance![]()

For the extractors id suggest 1" 3/4 Pacemaker for N/A application.
If supercharged 1"7/8 Pacemaker for blown applications, but this also depends on boost levels and power outputs required.
Forced Induction is a large field, harrop, PWR, Vortec, Raptor blowers all have there good points and bad points.
A Turbo kit will make and produce more power than a supercharger can produce, and no blower can match the mid range power a turbo can produce. also u dont have to worry when it comes to making more boost, unlike a blower.
They all have advantages and disadvantages, its u the customer has to know what u want from the car.
Asfor a OTRCAI, u wont be needing one of these with forced induction.
A few other points i think u will need to know, a fuel system is required, injectors are required, if manual a tex clutch, if Auto and depending on power levels a transmission build is required.
I think the best thing u can do is go for a drive with all combinations, and make ur decision.
Check out the thread in my signature, iv been supercharged and turbo'd.
