Default Manifold Spacer Fitting. Does it fit VY S2 Ecotecs?

    Hi all,

I recently puchased a manifold and plenum spacer from Mace and went to install it today. The instructions are clear (even if i only have them printed in blue. Stupid printer :P). Anyway. I put the spacer up against the old gasket to check it out and there is a bit missing. I check the manifold and the underside of the plenum and lo-n-behold it appears i have a different design to what was shown in the instructions.

Im just going to put the engine back together sans manifold spacer atm till i get some clarification.

Posted below are pics of the spacer aligned with the gasket. As you can see there is a channel that runs from the top (in the pics) to the bottom. The spacer is missing this and if i put it on would leave this bottom part exposed.

    Any suggestions/help?

    Hey Brad,

My sincerest apologies, you've been sent out a early model (VS-VT) manifold insulator (MI613). Will sent you out another insulator ASAP along with a return bag.

Do you still have the express post bag handy? If you have does it say MI613 or MI614 below the delivery address? Would like to find out if it's an administrative error or a packing one.

Please if you have any more questions/concerns don't hesitate to ask.

    Kindest Regards,
    Steve

    Hey MACE,

Do you have a picture of the VY manifold insulator at all? Does it look exactly the same as the gasket?

    Hey 1991_Vn2nV,

The VY insulator looks much the same as the gasket it's self.

    Hope this helps,

It will, however you need to grind back a small section of the spacer or fuel rail. Please only do the fuel rail if you know what you're doing. It's not a hard job but only a very small section of the rail needs to be trimmed and is perfect safe if done properly. If you were say to fit it on a VT it would be perfectly fine as they don't run larger billet fuel rails like the VS's do
