Default EOI Group buy for forged pistons to suit VN-VP V6's

    Hey Guys,

We are offering a set of forged pistons to suit a buick V6 (non ecotec)

We need 8 people to be able to offer the pistons at $660 a set inc GST.

The pistons are forged and are from probe industries in the states.

Probe Industries - High Quality Forged Pistons, Shaft Rockers, Main Girdles, Stud Girdles, Engine Kits, Crankshafts and Connecting Rods for Buick, Chevy, Ford, Chrysler, Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Sport Compact Applications. - 866-718-6267

So the first 8 people to put their name down will be able to take advantage of this group buy offer.

    Cheers
    Steve

Good to see you've got this up Steve.

Pistons will definitely be oversize. Even though the V6 does seem to be fairly kind to it's bores (if serviced regularly, my 250,000km block is still just within tolerance) when fitting new pistons it is best to have the block bored/honed to size to suit the pistons so that you can achieve the ideal piston to bore clearance.

    Of course i'm interested

They most likely be 20thou oversize. As for block girdles before you made the thread I didn't even know they existed for the 6's as I was looking at making one for myself. Will certainly make one up for my own build, when ever that it

    vr1uz-fe,

As for the time limit as soon as we get the confirmed numbers along with payment I'll organise to start getting these made. ATM I don't want to take anyone's $$$ until we get close to the final amount of people

The price we're offering the pistons will be below that of trade. The only reason for this is that I'm not too keen on having 13 sets of Buick pistons in store. If I can get the number down to around 5 then it's more bearable. In saying this though the price also includes GST so you should be able to get $60 back.

    DW,

To insure that we're on the same page with the manufacturer I was going to send them up an exact cast piston we wanted made except forged. You do make some good points which I'll stress to the manufacturer

The rings from my understanding are extra.

As for the rods we can supply a set of 4140 H beam rods for $750

Not sure yet. Rings are the easy part. The pistons on the other hand are not if you want them at a reasonable price.
