    Default Just a quick question

    Hey

in the near future, im looking at doing a cam upgrade on my VP V6, most probably a WADE 992a.

Do you think it would be also worth installing roller rockers/high ratio rockers or not really because of the cam upgrade?

    Thanks

    VKC

the Wade 992a profile has .295" lobe lift, so with stock heads you would be able to run up to 1.75:1 (1.6 standard) ratio rocker which will give you a total of .516" valve lift which is right on the limit of the stock head/valve spring combo

Thanks, So it will be worth it. Will it really really shorten the life of the heads/valve train?

Depends on how it's driven at the end of the day as the cam alone will add additional stresses on the motor. Not a big deal though as it will still last many many k's, unless it's destined to be used in a dedicated track/race car.

for a daily it would be fine. if your real concerned a valve spring upgrade will fix any lingering doubts.

What i might do it then use the stock rockers for now with the 992a, and then upgrade the rockers, Timing chain and valve springs when i port & polish the heads
