Default The Mace upgrade on the ute

Just spent $550 with Mace, products arrived Thursday morning. 1 day after ordering them.
25mm manifold spacer, 12mm plenum spacer and 69mm throttle body.

Fitted up within 2hrs. the manifold spacer gave me the most grieve but only because the instruction
manual was for a VS that doesn't have the PCV chanel. and the VY does.

so here are my pics, to help people install it on a vy and to show the after results.

this ute was supercharged up til 3months ago when the supercharger blew.
Have gone back to the NA setup but kept the s/c heads etc.

These mods, give the same low down kick as the factory supercharger.

Now sporting ASR audio interior lighting and stereo mods, and MACE induction mods.

good work mate, nice write up, however i doubt it will give the same amount of low down kick as the L67

Ill be doing the manifold spacer in about a weeks time too.
Does your strut brace fit back on after the 25mm manifold and 12mm plenum spacer?

you may doubt it all you want, fact is down low between 1000-2500rpm there is no discernable difference in torque between the supercharger and these mods. perhaps on a dyno you may see the difference but not when applied to real world driving.

    Soop, #### all difference.

Strut brace fits with extension but then fouls the bonnet. So I'm probably going to sell it. Paid $270 for from pedders. I was hoping there was a way to make it go behind the plenum rather than over it....

    Wow excellent writeup sp001in

These additional pics will prove immensely helpful for people looking at fitting these on a VX-VY V6 inlet manifold.

As for running the strut tower brace, you may be able to run spacers in between the strut tower and and strut brace to get extra clearance. Though this may require running longer studs/bolts through the strut itself.

    Food for though I guess.

Do you have the genuine HSV strut brace or a pedders one?

I didn't have to, it ran great straight away.

BUT I sent the computer off on Monday to have it retuned by memcals.com.

Dr.BOB has doen a nice little performance tune on it which will increase response and power and better fuel economy. total cost $332 including express post each way.

I'll time it when I get on the highway tomorrow. Had a quick go today in the 90zone, put the foot down at 60 and needless to say it went past 90 very quickly.

Do you think you may have used too much sealant ? That groove in the lim is for the oil to run into. Dont block it. I am sure i have seen a strut brace that goes behind. Check Whiteline or superpro

Are you sure the site is 'Memcals.com' , I am getting warning messages before entering the site. Don't want to take any risks as i am not on my own Computer. One that note, How much does it cost to get the VY computer tuned?
