just thought id let people know, after installing the mace box, i cut a hole in the side wall so that the stock air scoop that fitted the original holden box can fit through their, i also don't have the lid on. I have noticed that this performs better, the lid obviosuly is more for the boys in blue. Not here to dispute any actual hp gains but running it like this i can say i feel performs/sounds better.

    Ah nice

As I've mentioned previously the kits do run better without the lid, however as you've mentioned had been designed with a removable lid to keep the boys in blue happy. Out of sight out of mind kind of thing

Not that it's a problem without the lid, it's just a case of the less people know the better.

As for using the factory snorkel, with our airbox, I personally wouldn't have worried about it. Mainly because of it's small area plus the fact that it's above the radiator which does cause it to heat up considerably during stop start traffic.

    Cheers,
