I've noticed you've got the mail order tunes for the VE's and I'm assuming the VY runs a similar system with its computer as you cant 'chip' it. I was wondering if you do a similar thing for the vy ecotecs or not?
We're getting somewhere, just slower then what we would like on this front![]()

No worries at all... I figured it had to be more difficult than copy and paste off one of the vx chips lolWe're getting somewhere, just slower then what we would like on this front
ah ok. i dont really understand it but changing ECU's would be a bit of a nightmareProblem with the VY ecotec it they're a flash chip which means MACE would have to do exchange ECUs ad then the customer would need to get that linked to their BCM. Would get expensive easily

I really dont understand the what the difference is with the VY computer other than its a flash chip which i have no clue aboutThis would mostly likely be the way which it would be done, though we're looking at other options to make it easier for everyone
Is it a problem with the software needed to load the tune being expensive and hard to get or more a problem with being able to email the tune?
The problem with the slow take up/development of programming the VX-VY's V6 computers has been the fact that software for the engine parameters/chip are physically soldiered on the board. Emailing a tune for customer to flash in themselves is something that we're considering, but is a case of easier said then done!

So if you could un-solder it what would you need to be able to flash the tune on?The problem with the slow take up/development of programming the VX-VY's V6 computers has been the fact that software for the engine parameters/chip are physically soldiered on the board. If Mace could do a change over ECU or flash type system for the VX VY tight arse PCM and keep the car legal etc would give them Legendary status in my opinion, if not already for the V6 scene hehe........ The amount of effort they have put in over the years, even though some things may not have worked out, the amount of products already is fantastic.

We can now offer mail order tunes (replacement computers) to suit out cams for VU-VX-VYs now
They are a little bit more expensive, nonetheless though we can now supply them. These will be up on our site over the next week or two
Cheers,
Steve

Yep.......Mace have definitely reached Legendary status in my opinion. All the best to Mace for bringing out the goods for our vehicles. I know its only early days, but have you any cars there with the cam kits on the VX'VY already ? What it idle and drive quality like ?
To bring a Performance CAM and Reflashed ECU for VX etc. at $795 ?? down from previous $1000 + retune charges on top Cam is just amazing ! Hopefully the product does well.
Agree with ^
I paid huge money for a Chiptorque chip and tune. BAH.
Hey MACE, when you say replacement computer, do you mail out a ECU and the buyer sends thier back? Wouldn't that need the ECU linked to the BCM.
