VR v6 in a 91 hilux- engine mods.

gday, im after a bit more grunt from the old girl without going to forced induction. I was thinking the high ratio rockers and matching cam. what sort of gains could i expect and is there anything else that compliments the rockers and cam? its already got a good intake and extractors.

Hey Flanno,

I would consider start with some bolt ons first such as a larger throttle body and some higher ratio rockers for the job. Going a larger cam certainly help, however may take away a little from the bottom end, depending on the size.

It may not be a problem, however if you do a bit of towing you may notice it.

what will that do to the air/fuel mixture if i went a larger throttle body? it would need to be tuned im assuming. and iv heard v8 injectors can be installed with a higher pressure fuel pump would that be worth doing?

It's not common for a tune to be required for these things in a VN-VR V6 Commodore. Putting larger injectors without a tune would prove to be more problems then what it's worth
