Anyone with a VT/VX commodore that has had a 25mm Manifold Spacer does it fit perfect or will i have to drop down to a 12mm
Thanks
Andrew
I have a VS with a 25. It only just rubs the bonnet lining clips.
Should be right mate.
If your really concerned PM Steve (Mace) about it and he'll answer all your questions.
i think there is a big differnece in a vx then a vs ie. body size, weight ect so i going to need someone else that has a vt or vx about this and how much differnce u notice when u installed it
Ive asked MACE (Steve) already its an umm and a rrrr about it really which is why im looking for someone with same make as me because everyone knows trust customers more then the salesman in this case i trust both i just need someone who has brought these mods and fitted fine or needed to trim whatever or it was to big. And once i have them installed ill give a full proper review how to install, if u need any clearance and performance ect. in searching for post many people who have brought the manifold insulator and spacers have been vs's and no vt-vx's and if there was they didnt really tell much.
i have a vy and the 25mm manifold spacer fits fine otherwise my strut brace wouldnt fit
does ur cover go back on??
i didn't bother putting the cover back on so i wouldn't know
cause the manifold is shiny and looks realling new???/?////???/
No, because the engine cover traps heats and you can clean your manifold/Plenum to make it look alright..
I have 25MM in my VY also, I'm pretty sure the engine cover wont fit without mods. But i have both spacers.
okay cool well as soon as steve pm's me ill be buying them
As a general rule of thumb with the spacers
In regards to the engine cover and these spacer your best bet would be to take a couple of measurements just to make sure as every car is different; fitment summary from experience for your car is as shown below.
* Raising manifold by 12mm: Cover will go on like factory
* Raising manifold by 25mm: Cover will need to be trimmed around the alternator or bonnet liner needs to be removed or trimmed. Otherwise cover will rub on bonnet liner
* Raising manifold by 37mm: Cover will need to be trimmed around the alternator and other parts along with the bonnet liner needing to be removed. Otherwise cover will rub on bonnet liner/possibly not close depending engine mounts
* Raising manifold by 50mm: No hope of keeping cover without some serious bonnet mods. Will still require bonnet mods without cover
There have been some cases though where new aftermarket engine mounts have limited increasing manifold height by only 25mm, hence the reason why it's important to take measurements.
Hope this helps
Cheers
Steve
