    Default Throttle Bodies

    How good are these throttle bodies seeming ive ordered my CAI plenum and manifold spacer it has a big contribution to air i was thinking why not get more air out before i drop either rockers and chip in or a cam and chip. How fuel effecient is this will it see a rise in fuel consumption?? It says gain 10hp is this with a tune to suit or standard and for $220.00 is it worth the money or is the ecotec throttle body almost just as good, or should i skip it and got to rockers or cam??

    Do all of it like im doing, if the bank allows it of course.
    Ill post up power figures once the cam, rockers, valvetrain components and computer goes in.
    if all goes well, it should all be in by late january

    currently mine has the CAI, spacer + T/B and it goes a little bit better than factory
    You'll notice a difference with the T/B believe me

    Ive managed to gain an extra 20-50kms out of each tank of 98

    nice mate well its a toss up between throttle body or rockers first, but i guess the rockers will work better if there is more air going into it so might go the throttle body then i think. but then i think to my self ive got 220 for the tb why not save another 300 and get rockers. Which item will i see out with most gains. P.s im getting both of them either way just wanna chose what to go first. Also im hearing good things about the chips for VX commys i might snatch that up too what do use think about the chips?

    rockers you will see more id think, always remember the more mods you do the more your gonna see gains from the smaller stuff..everything helps everything..ive got maces tb and had their rockers and they were both top top quality products. than again anyhting you buy from there is top notch...

    If you're not going to cam it and do any head work/valve train work other than the rockers then id say go for the rockers, it will save you labour costs in the long run (if you choose to get a fully qualified mechanic/engine builder to fit and tune the parts) due to not having to go back and get stuff fitted again and again. Also will obviously have a much greater power gain than the T/B

    If you plan to do some serious head work/valve train work, go the T/B first, as its easy, you can do it yourself in under 15 mins (it took me about 10 mins to fit mine up) and itll put a little smile on ur face lol. Also will hurt your wallet less for the time being.

    ^^^ hit nail on head.

    Tb work great for seat of pants gains and if you are gunna cam don't bother with rockers, just get a big thumping cam
