    Default Cam decision help

What do you guys recommend; A standard stage 2 comp cam or high ratio rockers and a cam to suit?

Also got $200 on me atm, would a tuned memcal be a good idea to start or the spacers?

For a couple hundred more id go cam more performance and alot better u can buy it sepratly but u need a tune to suit mace has a package COMP V6 Ecotec Cam and Chip Packages - Mace Engineering Group which gives u the cam and chip to go with. Only thing is and dont quote me u will either probably need or it is recommended to upgrade to a double row timing chain, possible new springs and push rods to save your engine from going bye byes (maybe more, someone else can add in on it)

If you want to get the cam with rollers it will be alot more expensive and unless ur going to do head work and beef it right up i think ur best leaving it and getting manifold insulator spacer and plenum spacer for more low down torque and maybe a cold air as well. If u wait till Saturday ill be getting a dyno run of a before and after on my VX commodore 6 for the CAI (cold air) and the 2 spacers might give u more idea of wait direction u wanna go. That is my opinion i dont no about anyone else

Probably best if u tell us what car you have what the mods u have on it already what ur searching for ie. low down torque, top end or just HP and im sure people can help u out further (maybe some picks of ur car to =) )

    Cheers,
    Andrew

Either spacers or rockers or both for a start.

Got a '97 V6 VS, and I just wanna beef it up a bit, not going the full 10 second beast or anything haha. Sounds good looks like I'll probably go with the spacers and CAI for now then get a cam and chip stage 2 package and full exhaust system
Oh and let me know how the dyno goes cheers.

I'd suggest starting of with the basic bolt on mods. If you intend to go with a cam/tune package I would recommend the Comp Cams item as the gains will be greater then the crow cam/high ratio rockers/tune.

The Crow cam works well if you already have the High ratio rockers but if you don't, go with the Comp Cams item.

    cheers

The products you've purchased won't add a heap up top to be honest, but they will a considerable amount down low. If you're after more peak power then you'd to consider a set of rockers or a cam upgrade.
