I think this has something to do with accidentally turning / tugging the steering wheel a split second after turning the engine off - i.e. heaving on the wheel when stepping out of the car. I think people are getting TWO issues mixed up here. This "pinging" sound is an exhaust issue and all 6.0 L77's do it - apparently some more than others. Sounds sort of like rice grains rattling around in a can (if you get my drift) on acceleration. Does this at any temp - not just cold i.e...

Thanks Smashfist. I have thought about the exhaust. Have to disable the AFM too i guess. Definately no chirping (sideways lifters) or anything like that yet ! I think it's a common thing but just wanted to know how common. I have recently heard another do exactly the same thing when cold.
