    Drive belts - Recommendations?

    Ended up going Gates, but found out my lower smooth pulley was 90mm, which was causing the reading to be thrown off. Replaced with a 70mm pulley and now within the gauge. If I had a million threads, you'd think I'd have my commy sorted by now! :eek:

    How to read the 3 marks on the tensioner?

    Just looked, the smooth tensioner and the serrated V idlers are small and the same size, the third smooth idler, one just left of the AC pulley is than both. My belt lenth is 2830 At first I also thought the belt sizes were too long, but the previous belt which was slipping was also 2830.

    This is an old thread I know, but if you've just fitted a new belt and it's still in the renewal range, would that mean the tensioner's gone stiff?

    My tensioner is looking like this atm —— < (Triangle) —— —— —— I got a new Repco belt done about about 15,000km ago. Seems a bit short lived to me. Wanting to find a more long lived belt, Hoping it’s not the tensioner being stiff.
