Ive made a few mdf parcel shelves for vn's etc and they are pretty tricky to get a neat finish... especially around the quater window... However in my VP, I made a flat dummy parcel shelf that i simply laid over the original carpet. by using 12 mm mdf, and offsetting the speaker hole's...

if your looking at simple things..have you tried putting good tyres on it...and wheels aren't just for looks... 16's seem to work well, 17's can be a bit bumpy and tend to push up front... i run factory fe2 on my vp so the slightly bigger brakes and stiffer bits are a good start I run 225...

has anyone explored this... ive thought about it... the huffers are cheap after all...admitedly it could make things messy under the bonnet
