They're solid as too no worries about them letting go! I had made mine when mace was out of stock just as a temporary but I still use the mdf up top it is a safety thing on my bucket as it's full of the things you're not meant to do and if you've seen what happens to a cast manifold in a bad...
As bad as this may sound to everyone that knows everything or to the nfi's with google at hand mdf is a viable and capable insulator for use in manifolds as long as it is fitted well! with a compound not unlike a paper gasket when used with 3 bond grey or any decent rtv, one downfall is you...
Something to consider is some of the finest quality and highest tech electronics from the best euro and American manufacturers comes from china built under licence even some of the best American engine components come from china using our steel forged conrods are $20,billet 427 Ls stroker crank...
Definitely right there !coils that short can take out the fets that drive them not so bad on a dore where u just kill the dfi think about pcm driven units and same goes for so many different things even cheap phone chargers are a good example killing the phone itself or the $700 dollar mosfet...
even though they are cheap it runs easy low 13s at 200kmh with no traction , surely no one would pay that much for a dfi from Holden mace sell Delphi Module and coils plus plugs and leads for $470 and that's retail but they come with autolite plugs I'd ditch them for ngk though ,isn't Delphi Gm...
Goss repco used to sell em too I think, they seem to be replacing the calibre ones at this supercheap anyway, now I've got to get dirty and put a cat converter in aaargh! not my favourite thing to do but, I bought a new welding helmet today so should less annoying
The more power an engine makes the higher the cylinder pressure and load put on the ignition, going from a small turbo as I was running and having few ignition issues going to a mid size turbo with a 3" exit and a bit more boost has given enough cylinder pressure to load up the cheapies about...
Goss they are only 20 something dollar coils, they run fine on a normal gap with good leads till about 14psi but I wanted more so tried .030" it still struggled at 18psi but with .020" it hammers on 20plus no sign of break up unless its really pig rich like now lol besides I put em on a load test...
It changes every week and it's now running a conventional fuel system and now has a programable memcal so it's getting dyno tuned, it's got a lower pressure but higher flowing fuel system now , the old pumps and reg could pump Enough flow and pressure just with what it made with small injectors...
Never mind the 1000's of other vehicles i service and tune, the common sense needs to be applied to all ! as our industry is dying due to sell outs ,bought and read information and hand out qualifications the more insight people have the better for all of us !
1st gen vn coils were one of the only ignition systems sold in Aus that had a secondary voltage/amps enough to stop a heart , fun fact and typically despite common belief a smaller gap increases the spark energy and heat and a bigger gap applies more surface area for the spark to dissipate its...
Yeah but I believe it would be better to eliminate the cause and comparing to my ol vp it went better with hotter plugs it rarely saw 30deg plus air temps and good fuel wasn't always available so they stayed clean, mine may have had a weaker spark maybe but it drifted like a vp shouldn't
It's probably a false economy buying the cheap coils I only went supercheap because they were cheap and in stock plus I carry all spare electronics , dfi , maf , crank so not so worried if I fry something
