Power steering pump (Done the ffs, this is different hear me out :-)

Thanks for the replies, I had been looking for the noise after I had taken the car for a drive, on further investigation the next day when the car was cold realised it is intake noise... I am rather stumped as to why the intake makes so much noise when the car is cold, but that is where my noise...

Power steering pump (Done the ffs, this is different hear me out :-)

All my searching revels end play is common, but I don't have any... What I do have when pump is rotated slightly back & forth is a small clack clack noise. Is this normal as I am chasing a cold start up noise which proving to be rather difficult to find (sounds like a bearing pulley rumble, but...

Replacing the wiper motor water deflector.

Good luck finding a new one, second hand ones normally have some cracking as they are rather thin plastic & not easy to get off without damaging. Black silicone sealant is your friend for this job.

    vs series 1 manual

The clutches in them are heavy to operate, that is normal, unless yours requires 2 feet to push down :-). When reassembling fit a new rubber boot to the clutch fork if missing/torn & check the fork is located securely or the fork will make a squeaking sound too. If your bearing noise is when...

    cleaning spark plugs

Word of caution on sand blasting plugs... Make sure no residue is trapped between the ceramic & outer electrode, that's a good way to damage your bore. Bead blasting is "apparently" safer.

    what is a getrag

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you will find the T5's run a cable operated clutch, & the Get ya self a rag has Hydraulic.

    Indicators

Under the steering wheel, if it has a drivers side air bag (and I aint talkin about ya missus in the drivers seat) then take the appropriate precautions, we don't want to hear you blew your head off! True they have tabs that wear down, last owner of my car must have driven in circles... one...

That says it all. :-) Needs to be coded to your ECU.

VS Commodore Handbrake button flying off...Help please.

If the button is flying off there is likely to much spring pressure, someone may have stretched the spring to counter a sticking button. If refitting it causes the ratcheting mechanism not too function I would think your spring is not seating properly. Try refitting it making sure your handbrake...

    T5 speedo problem

Might be the plug on the back of the dash cluster, mine causes issues with my dash lights & petrol gauge... Which reminds me, must get round to fixing it.

    vr blowing excessive black smoke

Sounds like they may have set you up... Open the Air box & see if they shoved a few rags in front of your air filter.

    how low can i go..?

Quote from NZ Low Volume Vehicle Standards: unless specified as an original condition by the original vehicle manufacturer, the road clearance of the unladen vehicle is not less than 100 mm measured at any part of the vehicle other than the wheel rim, brake backing plate and the outer knuckle of...

VR Commodore unsteady RPM when past 3k

If I understand correctly your revs are stable, but your Tacho is not? The Tacho gets its signal from the Brown wire in terminal E of the DFI unit (about the 5th wire along from the front of the unit), perhaps a loose/dirty connection at the DFI is the problem as would be easy to distrub this...
