jeez what a time warp that thing looks like its only like 3 years old!!!
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
lol.. Thanks.
But it does need a little tlc, and damn new door seals... but cant afford $1100 right now, also am finding little rust spots and treating them.
but slowely and surely will get it the way i want it and leak free lol
and oh um Jo3, it was $5500 they wanted $6500 flew over from Adelaide to Syd and drove it back,, didnt miss a beat![]()
Sweet LC mate
Its always fun finding rust spots and leaks in the torries lol.
Cheers.
You got yourself a bargin there, suprised some random drag racer didn't snap that up at the full asking price
Nice looking ride - make sure you look after it. When its time to get a new car, if you can afford it try to to put this one away rather than trade. You'll find it's a nice change to have a car that keeps it value.
Try to find a console for the shifter and stereo. Will look heaps better.
thanks guys..
and yes Kevin i am currently in the process of designing one with some help from this guy:
Board Message
who has built his all himself but above the cd player will have some guages and will try and make it look older to suit the car.
and the only way i will sell or trade this is for a LC GTR, but other than that plan on keeping it for a very long time![]()

drove to the exhaust shop wed morning at 8am with just extractors :P was fun lol
had a 2.1/4" made up from there back with a RedBack performance muffler at rear.
Looks good and sounds awsome.

Started the conversion from trimatic to 4spd yesterday, going well so far almost dropped the tranny, have all the mounting bolts out, disconnected the auto kick down cable, speedo cable, vac line. got all the pedals mounted.. was a pain, took nearly 3hours to do that lol, had to rip out the front seat and lay in the foot well and slowely do it.
Just have swap the box's and fit the linkage mounts then should be done.. hopefully

have decided to go with a blown red motor, bought a 186 today, with Duralite pistons, turbo cam, new lifters, rods etc. was running a blower but he killed it so doesnt come with that. but have another one lined up hopefully should have in a month or so.

Whatever you do with it, don't screw this car up. It is too rare and looks bloody excellent as it is. Your mods so far have been intelligent and appropriate. Put a blower on if you must, and by all means fit a worked 186, but remember that LC Toranas were build long before Holden discovered that cars should handle and stop properly. If you are going to boost the power, make sure the suspension and brakes are as good as you can get them. Even if the car is comparitively low mileage, the suspension bushes will probably be the originals which means they are 40 years old and well overdue for replacement. Same thing applies to the shocks, steering connecting rubber bush and possibly hydraulics.
yea it wont be going that fast, but have yet to do the shocks, springs, brakes etc and i will eventually get all new nolathane bushes. i want to keep it clean and original as i can, as u said they are getting harder to get and more expensive, and i plan to keep this one in the family.
