Lightbulb Terminal's first (project) car and it's a Bimmer

As if I haven't got enough on my plate with the rebuild on my VP Calais and helping Reaper with his VP SS, my younger brother goes and buys a bimmer (yes they are taking over) and tells me he wants to drop a 3800 and a T5 into the thing.

So Project BMW 338i(s) is born!

$1200 was the price for what you see pictured below.

1981 BMW E21 323i 2 door Coupe with inline 2.3 litre 6 cylinder and a 3 speed auto in some form of light metallic green.

It has 330k on the clock and runs OK although is quite loud due to holes in the mufflers. Minimal rust, just the obligatory little bit in the bottom back corners of both door panels. Surprise!! It's dry inside both the passenger cabin and the boot. Has had 1 owner from new. Will need a new chin and nose me thinks, it will also need some panel work behind the rear passenger door as there is a scratch / dent to contend with.

Broadstrokes: - Remove and sell the current engine, ancillaries, and transmission. Drop in the 3800 and the T5, prototype everything, then rip it all apart and spay it gun metal grey. Put everything back after copious amounts of polishing etc. Suspension specs to be determined. How far we go on the interior is anyone's guess.

Once my brother is off his P's the plan is for an SC14 and cooler. Should be quite the rocket once it's finished.

Anyway you look at, it's going to be an adventure.

Hakhawk this e21 is a fine specimen it has next to no rust and the little that it does should be no problem at all to fix.

And so it begins. I recently purchased two main components for this project.

A 1993 3.8ltr V6 Engine with 220,000k's on the clock and Auto Transmission [Sellings Auto Trans]

And a T5 5 Speed Manual Box to be mated with the engine

    Next to come..

Clutch and Flywheel to complete the mating process
