Ford are doing a great deal with the extras on the 50th Ani,white is the bomb aswell. When its run in have a little fun using the antilag setup flatshifting lol,it is designed to do so.The FGs may say 270fwkw but reality is they pull @235-240rwkw equating to @300fwkw+.Hamburger with the lot really for the coin. The best cheapy mod for yours will be the FG XR8 pod setup(factory)for 10rwkw more.

i have never ever heard of this model, what the double shit is it?
doesn't look half bad for a blue oval....
although, i do agree on the BA/BF's being the better looking model of fords time.

Was waiting for the taxi comment... But yes, the R36 is gone...

It's a 50th Anniversary XR50 Turbo. Which basically means it's an XR6 Turbo with a whole lot of extra goodness. Like full leather, premium ICC (from the G6E and G6ET), premium sound, bluetooth, iPod integration, 19" wheels... All for $45,000 drive away which for me represented better value than ANY Holden. The SV6 is bland and way to basic for it's price point. The SSV doesn't perform as well and arguably isn't as refined (interior plastics, leather quality, comfort etc - but yes I know they're all subjective). You go to HSV and add at least $20k - $30k for not a whole lot more. Let's face it, torque is what matters these days (unless you're a dyno queen and want ultimate power) and with 533Nm the Ford is right up there. It's putting it's power and torque down through the TR6060 M6 (same as the HSVs since E2 as well the W427) and they also share the same diff. Bushes on the Ford are (again arguably) better than Holden/HSV but let's face it - the OEMs are all pretty mediocre. Upgrading them to Nonthalene is a priority.

The potential for a lot of gains for not much money with the I6 Turbo engine is quite astounding. As has been mentioned, a basic intake mod and retune gets 10+ rwkw more and starting at 230-240rwkw (which I plan to confirm in November) means that 250rwkw without any exhaust or engine changes (other than intake and tune) is very realistic... Fixed price servicing and 170,000km 6yr warranty is also nice.

Personal preference between the looks of the BA/BF and FG but for me, the FG wins. It certainly wins in terms of chassis, interior, access and things like plastics and panel alignment/gaps. The VE II is extremely underwhelming... They're actually starting to look Japanese and the interior upgrades are pathetic. For me, the FG is a classier looking ride than the VE II and I'm also starting to like it a lot more than the VE (and I've had three VEs).

I'm personally LOVING the white with dark tine and dark grey rims. Wasn't sure about the side decals initially but they match the rims perfectly and they've grown on me.

More pics to come once I've detailed it, including interior pics.

They still look like a dressed up Camry. Ford got it very wrong with the shape IMO. Good luck with it all the same.

nice mate white is definitely an awesome color although im a bit biased.... i have to disagree with everyone else on the styling, i think the FG is a huge improvement on the BA/BF. great car mate cant wait to see what you do with it

Now to see how many kms you will get out of the factory Dunny's lol.For me thats the only real downfall, half tread they are noisy as the rest of the journey and tramline. You going to keep the stock wheels or flick them for some good coin early for new boots?

Can you beleive the G6ET has no LSD or option to do so,spin city.

Yeah high powered demos are not my cup of tea.Have they fixed the issue with the few mm too long t/cover bolts that were giving leaks at 1500-3000kms due to inadequate gasket crush?

It didn't come with any dunnys, there's no tram lines in Canberra so not an issue. I tried flicking my stock wheels tonight but when I did I got no coin. Oh well, I guess that magical feature is an option I don't have. And I don't really wear boots. I have my ADF boots still so when I do need some, that's what I wear.

I think what you're trying to say here is that the G6E Turbo (which isn't what I have) doesn't come standard with a LSD and you can't add one as an option. So what? I didn't get a G6E Turbo. And your "spin city" reference has me stumped. It was a good TV show when it was around but hasn't really got any relevance to the topic.

The noise it makes is actually very impressive for a 6 and quite rumbly. It's actually very meaty - I'd say on par with the stock HSV setup I had. And the Turbo whine always puts a smile on my face! But I'm not after loud an obnoxious any more. Just enough noise to know it's there is plenty for me.

I saw your pics over on ford forums as it turns out. Bloody awesome cars the xr6 T's are but i am very biased. I wished i had of known about the xr50's before i bought mine lol. Launch control is fun, not terribly effective with a ute but fun

Actually thats not half bad. Can't say white or those wheels do it any justice, but still looks pretty awesome. Agree with the FG v. VE interior quality and refinement comment, my uncle has a tradie FG ute and thats a better place to be than any VE this side of a Calais.
