More updates!! Big updates.
One set for me, one set for my housemate.
They sent me 7kg front / 6kg rear, but I ordered 9kg front and 7kg rear, so there is a pair of 9kg springs on the way and I get to keep the old springs as spare, no harm done! Very very very impressed so far, I have the dampers on 14/16 quite stiff, I am looking forward to the stiffer springs.
I didn't adjust them much at all, maybe 4 or so turns from how they were sent, I'm pretty happy with the height at the moment, Though I do want a small slip on spacer for the front just to give me some extra clearance from the strut. Running 16x8 +35 and a 225/45R16 Advan AD07 tyre.

Hells yeah
Oh and got to be happy with the free springs.

No doubt! Between me and my house mate we will have numerous sets of 5kg, 6kg, 7kg, 8kg and 9kg springs! Perfect for suspension tuning. Went for a drive tonight, very impressed with the suspension so far. These coilovers run a 55mm monotube damper, its very very thick.

My friend crashed my car a little bit, going too fast on the touge and nudged a barrier. It's not the worst thing in the world but damn its annoying, I'd only had the car back together for 2 days and I'd just painted the car. My friend is a very experienced driver, coming from a racing family and a go-karting background, having done countless track days and advanced driving courses. I guess that a mixture of adrenaline and not knowing the car ended up with this result. My friend is paying for the damage and we are going to the wreckers on Tuesday to buy:
Front bar (have to repaint black)
Front reo
Front left headlight
Fill panel
Front left guard (will have to paint side strip black)
So with a bit of luck it will be under $300 and I'll have it all back together / painted on Tuesday. Overall, not a very bad accident but still quite upsetting.
On a slightly lighter note, I ordered these 78mm extended front wheel studs
Anticipating a 5mm slip on spacer for the front.

That sucks mate, that really sucks!!
I bet you told the friend to tone it down a level, if he's ever allowed to drive your car again
On a better note, I have installed the charger, although it is in need of a tune desperately!!
So since your car is driving apart from the damage (that will be fixed very soon) and mine is nearly drivable, I take it Sutton road is not far away for the both of us?

Sutton road indeed is in order!
Bit of an update, I've got a new front end which is in ok condition, just need to rub it back and straighten it up which I have started doing now. Also having a machine shop in Fyshwick make me up some top hat adapters so I can run my new HSD HR coilovers in the rear, these should be done Monday/Tuesday this week. All of this is preparing for Skidpan drift on March 31st and an Initial Drift day at Wakefield on April 9th. Turbo conversion should be started/finished by these days.

I had some top hat adapters made up so I can run s13 coilover (2 stud top hat) into my r31 rear (3 stud top hat) a lot of people redrill the top of the strut tower, this isn't the best option.
So..
Top had adapters are all finished, I've very very happy with the quality of these and the level of skill showed. They are made from 25mm solid mild steel and have 12x1.25 wheel studs pressed into them, they are strong as anything, this is much safer than drilling strut tops I feel. I'm very very happy!
Note the bevelled edge on the underside to accommodate for the style of the HSD top hat.
Thanks for looking.

Hey Anthony,
Do you have any places for the skidpan on the 31st? If not I will happily come out and watch.

Braided oil feed/water feed/first half of water return line ordered and paid for, just need to get a 3/4" BSP fitting for the oil return on the block and all that stuff is ready. Now just need sort out the colside intercooler piping and probably a new intercooler core, more than likely will buy a cheapie off eBay or SAU for $150 delivered - should be fine for my needs. Hope for the turbo setup to be complete before my April 9 drift day.

I bought some more bolts today, for the turbo to dump and turbo to manifoldso everything is starting to take shape. Just waiting on my oil/water lines to arrive then I will strip off the N/A gear and start installing the turbo gear. I still need to finishing cleaning up the casting marks on my new manifold, paint it and install the turbo injectors, then I can just switch the manifolds over (more or less). May as well paint my spare rocker cover while I'm at it too.
Pictures of the turbo + manifold + front pipe dummied up - front pipe is a 3" press bend, I know mandrel is better but for my setup this is still going to flow more than plenty, goes down to 2.75" in the bends.

Picked up a 3/4" BSP barb fitting for the oil return into the block, and also a 3/8" T piece to run from the braided water return line, around the otherside of the engine to near the intake where I'll splice it in. All coming together!!

I polished the lips of the wheels I'm using on the front at the moment, the WEDS 16x8 +35 with my Advan ad07 225/45R16. They came up a treat!! Makes the centres look even crappier though.

Onto the 17x9 +36 now, these were in pretty crappy shape. Had to sand through the fading clear coat first, so I did 240grit, 400, 800 and 1200 before metal polish.
Before:
After:
I think it looks a lot better overall, I know they don't have massive dish but I think the polished lip looks a lot better than faded dirty clear coat.

I bought this little two row cooler to use for my power steering, I'll relocate the reservoir to the back of the engine bay, so hopefully the combination of the cooler and the longer lines (larger fluid capacity) will keep me out of trouble.

Don't really enjoy painting stuff all that much, but the front end is painted again, so is my boot. I did it in a badly lit shed, and with gloss white it was hard to see there were a few runs appearing - but I'll be able to get rid of them with some wet 2000grit. Paint was using all my last drips and drabs, got through in the end though.
Dodgy phone pictures: (looks sort of grey in the pictures, because of phone/light etc) the other thing I painted was a BBS front air dam for my friend's E21.
Also picked up these, I am doing a texikhana stlye driving event at the end of May, so need some tyres which will grip well apart from my Advan fronts.

Not bad, looks like it has machine marks in it??
Would this be a factory clutch?
Flywheel - being machined tomorrow - anyone ever had an R31 flywheel lightened?
Here's the kicker - check out the spigot bush!! not much left of it!! Half of it was just dust

Dude, solid effort.
Your giving me motivation to start tracking the Subaru. (i know your drifting and that's different, but you get the idea :P)
When's your next drift day?
97 WRX AWD
Tein Coilovers + EDFC Dampener Control - Whiteline heavy duty Rear sway bar - Whiteline Droplinks front and rear
Turbosmart dual stage boost controller
IHI VF34 Turbo - XForce 3inch TBE - Oversized TMIC - Unichip PiggyBack ECU
PPG Straight cut 1st & 2nd, Slight helical 3rd & 4th and standard fifth - HD Clutch - custom braided clutch line
02 wrx 4pot front calipers - DBA500 two peice slotted rotors - Steel braided Lines
BP98 safe tune @ 171.8awkw
Thanks mateThe car is not only for drift, I do grip events too
Just tweak my suspension and change the wheels/tyres etc. I didn't want to build a car so stuck on drift that's all it could do.
Track days are great, change your brake fluid, take out your spare tyre and get going :P
I have a practise day this Saturday on the wet skidpan, then a big day on April 9. Then:
Matsuri May 12-13
Texikhana May 19
Motorkhana May 20
So much fun!! Just need to get that damn turbo on there.
