Hey polak!
Jak się masz?
What are some specs on the engine?
As You can see there are very similar. In UK there was Vauxhall Carlton, in Europe Opel Omega, in US Cadillac Catera, in Australia Holden Commodore. More info you can read here on wikipedia >> Opel Omega - Wikipedia
Unfortunately here, in Europe, they've stopped producing Omega in 2003. You guys are lucky
1. Still have Commodore in production
2. 'n' have big engines in them.
The biggest engine we had in Omega, was 3.2 V6 (But in 90's we had Lotus OmegaYouTube - Lotus omega vs Swedish cops (with sound) ). There was a prototype 5.7, but Opel had problems with overheating so they had stopped it.
Videos about 5.7 Omega
YouTube - Opel Motorcity 2009 Omega V8 Über-Omega 5,7l 315PS and YouTube - Omega V8 Concept
And there was 1 guy in Poland, who tried to swap 5.7 engine from Monaro to Omega (dunno if he has completed it) > here are some photos > Projekt MONARO (187517/33) - Strona 1 - ASC
Witam witam
I have small engine. Only R4 2.2 144PS 205Nm. Guys in my club are trying to convince me to swap this engine to 3.0V6 211PS.
For what its worth, although the Opel Omega/Vauxhall Carlton/Cadillac Catera was based on the same platform as the Commodore (GM V body), it is actually very much a different car to the Commodore - bodykits and interior are all different (as you can see), drivetrains were all different...I'm not sure as to how many, if any parts can be swapped between the two...probably the front doors and thats it.
Either way...great example of an Omega...I especially love the interior - as much as I love Holden I do wish the fit and and finish of their interiors was up to the same quality as that of Opel's.
Here are some small changes in & out
and some spinnin'
There's a plan to put in another engine - turbo from saab 2.0 or 2.5 litres.
