    Default Pride Powerboat

Always wanted a boat. Friend of the family was selling theirs for a price that i couldnt knock back so decided to buy it with the girlfriend

    Boat is a Pride Fury

    Fibreglass Hull
    40hp Johnson Outboard
    Shitty Red Pinstipes
    Fibreglass Windshield
    Roller Trailer
    CD Player
    4 seats

Planning on a respray, or maybe half and half respray. Just to get some of the nicks and dings out of it. I've heard the old wives tale about respraying/naming boats....but figure it's worth risking

    Any tips greatly appreciated.

Took the windshield off. Planning to make/get one made for it. Got a quote of around $700 from the last owner. Not paying that much. Anybody made a windshield for a boat before or know anywhere in Melbourne that makes them for less than say $500? Doesnt have to be glass, just seethrough.

Price sounds about right for the windscreen...ours was done is perspex.
Definatly isnt cheap doing up a boat !!!
Would be pretty hard to make 1 yourself with the curves and aluminium frame.
Not in melbourne so cant help you out there.
THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR RAW HORSEPOWER !!

    Boat...

    Bring
    Out
    Another
    Thousand

As somebody at work with a Malibu Response told me today.

I was thinking with the winshield to do it in perspex in 5 different sections.

Two sides, have the curvature in aluminum two sections in front of driver/passenger and then a removable centre piece for getting out on the bow.

Rewired some of the remote starter/throttle controls.

Wiring on the boat is an absolute pig. All needs ripping out and redoing. There was no spark at the start of the weekend, and as at 5:50 today...there was spark. Traced it down to the fact that it's running an OMC remote and a 1982 Johnson and the remote wires are a different colour to what comes out of the motor so the last person just did whatever they thought was right...twisted wires...etc etc.

License test Thursday, and hopefully on the water next weekend. If it's running right.
