Sooo, wrx was sadly soldFew reasons for selling it, mainly due to long trips and my rooted back not liking it too much...as soon as I can afford it, will be buying one again as a weekender.
Anywho, only have crappy iphone pic of car until I can organise to shoot it one evening.
Decided on this after test driving new calais V, a VW and a coupe of other cars. Seriously...how holden can charge so much for a calais is beyond me...the G6E is a league above it in drive and interior finish, as well as lack of BOX looks. The 200km old calais v i drove was already suffering from interior rattles...sad..the VY/Z Calais' where such nice cars.

Nice, was that CSP's?
Dunno what you hope to acheive by bagging out commdoores on here though.

Awesome car mate! Looking forward to the trip next weekend... Will be way more comfy than the WRX.
Only mod I'd recommend cosmetically is the black headlights as per the G6... Will tone down the front end "bling" look.
Hahahaha!!! No mine's an XR50T. Same drivetrain as in minux's G6ET since he had the LSD installed before delivery... And like him, speaking from experience with the Holden offerings, as well as having owned an R36 Passat, the Ford is without question the best value for money in terms performance, fit/finish, quality and (imo - because styling is subjective) styling.
Calais V, even with a V8 in it, can't keep up or compete on any level with the G6ET except for it's projector headlights and flexible blade wipers. The ONLY two things that let the Ford down.
Yes. The Brembo package offered on the Redline series from Holden is where these cars should be as a baseline, with optional upgrades. They're adequate, but going from my HSV and my R36, they were noticeably weaker in the Ford. But The standard Holden kits isn't any better. At least they now have Brembos available.
Looks good minux.

I dont even know why you still attend this forum honestly.. you havnt had a commodore for a while and you seem to think they are built poorly and cost to much... maybe its time to join another forum and let go?
Just a thought.
Minux is an Admin on this site not some random 14yr old holiday muppet causing trouble
He's not ragging on holdens, just because he owns a ford. He's giving justified criticism on the Holden that is marketed against the model he has purchased.
God, some people these days, honestly.

Looks nice as!! Good choice!
Errm PS to the haters, Minux has been around here for years and you make is seem like your afraid of a little competition? So long as he does his job as ADMIN on JC then whats the issue?
Nothing else to bitch about except when people have a go at their precious love of a model of car? I was unaware we cannot critique a vehicle here. Fairly sure given that I was looking at them gives me a right to mention the poor quality of THE ONE i test drove.
Some people seriously need to stop being so precious.
For the record, at last check I am a member of at least 6 different make forums...I cannot help to prefer to buy value for money over being a one eyed supporter who will purchase 2nd rate (in my opinion only) just for the hell of it.
Thanks for the love guys![]()

love it minux! i want one haha. cant wait to take some pics of it. and i agree with csp, blacked head lights would look nice.
I wasnt a fan of white either, until I saw it in the flesh, just looks like a luxo barge cruiser haha. I looked at black and a reddish one, white just struck me as the nicer of them all. Plus I was sick of being able to see stone chips etc on other colours, white hides it a bit
Yeah me either, just need to get off my arse and organise a time to shoot. The G6 lights is a good idea, but main things first, tune ( it is lively enough now when dropping back to firstfor a bootful, but need a little more)![]()

When are people on this site going to realise that not everyone on here worships Commodores? It's bloody rediculous that a senior member on here like Minux can't post up a non Holden/Commodore without the same people pissing and moaning about it.
Pretty nice car Minux, can't say i'm a real fan of the body styling though, but i can't say i'm a fan of the body styling on any current new car to be honest so whatever you like i guess.
Atleast it's got the boosted 6 though, nice engine they are.
Nice to have a full size sedan again?
Yeah back is loving it!!
Umm, it is hard to park lol, each time i park i drop it into reverse to bring the camera on so I can see if the arse is inIt is nice to be RWD again, as much as I love the rex, I think it is best suited to track days, will certainly buy another for that reason eventually! The 6 is real nice boosted, such smooth punchy power, I am pretty impressed by how well the turbo suits the setup. Still taking a bit to get used to the auto though.
But yeh, nice to be able to fit all my camera gear int he boot and not in the hatch and on back seat![]()

Lol, these new fandango gismos, what happened to good old touch parking?
Yeh, i like the boosted Ford 6 aswell, drove a customers Territory Ghia Turbo the other day (first boosted Ford 6 i have driven) and i was really impressed with it, it all worked really nicely.
If i was to buy a new Ford, it would be a Turbo 6 without a doubt, wouldn't even consider a Ford V8.
Touch parking? Can't do that in new cars, the bumpers disintegrate and the car is written off
Territory Turbo's are sweet rides, great sleepers too, seen a couple leave behind cammed SS's etc.
