i need cup holders for my berlina, im not even going to think about holding hot coffee in my lap... in the magna cup holders the bastard nearly jumped out and copped the CD player.
just thinking about it hurts lol
UPDATE: Just had a new windscreen installed in the Magna. It was sandblasted pretty bad and was scratched so it had to go.
This is kind of an update, I have now done over 10,000kms in this Magna since I have had it and haven't had any problems. It will probably be due for tyres soon and my dad wants to respray it, but first I need to buy a new L/H/F guard and front bumper bar, rub back the paint on the bonnet, roof and boot lid. It's still going to be the same colour as well, and if I end up selling it later on, I might get a bit more money for it and the rest of the car is in really good condition.
I have purchased an electric radio antenna but haven't had time to installing it yet. Not really much more to say at the moment. Not really sure what else i'm going to end up doing, but it's good as is for now, as a daily anyway.
Try owning and servicing the V6 magna, lucky you have a 4 cyl.
Was a very nice car to drive tho, bit hang on and wish for good luck with all that power thru the front wheels, in a corner with cruise control activated haha.
Looks clean, they're good dailys, parts are cheap and availiable and cheap on fuel too.
have you ever owned one? they're far from bullet proof, pretty sure every car needs a major service ever 100,000km..
I've owned a 3.0L v6 and a 3.5L v6, they are the hardest engines to stop leaking due to poor design, there is no access to the front of the engine which makes things "fun"
Rocker covers are the worst design in the world, the lash adjusters break all the time and tick, i've replaced heaps over the years, my 3.5L verada popped front main seals every 20,000km like clockwork and my 3.0L v6 drank oil. both were at 200,000km.
But they NEVER left me on the side of the road and i never had cooling system issues or any thing go horribly wrong..Good for a daily because you can't get in much trouble. fairly comfortable too. but if I had the choice again i'd get a VT v6 but they are not bad cars.
ahh yes, the 3.5 drama's!
the front main seal decided to die, oil, hitting the belt and trowing oil every bloody which way, was not fun trying to locate that one!
and not having the tools to do it, it had to get sent into the mechanic.
i told 'em "should have bought a commodore" lol
they can ####ing hammer though.
Yeah if mine was the V6 and I couldn't be bothered working on it, I would just take it somewhere.
My favourite Magna is the TJ Advance 3.5 V6, one comes to work all the time and it has a bit of power and the options like climate control, electric windows, cruise control, etc. I am just glad mine is easy to work on being a 4 Cylinder.
Hey guys,
Thinking about getting a set of rims for the Magna, mainly just to clean it up a bit (make it look neater).
Just wanted to know what people thought of these:
I might also be lowering the car between 30-45mm. Other plans are a full respray and fix up any dents/scratches, replace all side windows and rear window, replace interior carpet, and that's about it for now. There may be more work that I will do but after all the rest is done.
Update: I fitted 4 new tyres yesterday and this car feels so much more safer to drive, it actually grips now haha. And no more road noise.
