C2. AHPC C2. Bit different to yours. Next time be a man - throttle 100% and skip across the tops of the waves. Port philip chop is great for that. Just duck ever 4th or 5th wave which you tend to go thru rather than over. Busted a few perspex screens doing that

Oh, not sure how this slipped my mind, but the boys from the Vic Water Police decided to pay us a visit in a vessel not dis-similar to this:
Saw it coming from ages awat straight for as as we are sitting and fishing... getting closer and closer. My fiancee's dad is like... "Err... is that massive boat going to change course soon because it's going to be right on us in a minute".
As the got close I saw the side and I was like ah yeah, I see.
They just asked a few questions, wanted to see lift jackets, fire extinguiser and flares and wen't on their way!
Then there was another patrol a the marina jetty. Good to see them out and checking to see people are boating safely.
One bloke docked next to me got done for out of date flares, out of date fire extingusher and no flashlight. There were going to just give him a warning for the flashlight and flares but cause he was giving them so much lip they gave him fines for everything.
But yeah, first time ever on the water and I was pulled over! if I was a p-plater I could start a thread about police harassment!![]()
Nice! That would be a shitload of fun!
Yeah, i tried that approach but it was REAL choppy. Plus every 5th wave was twice the size so it was a bit dangerous to full throttle it as those one launched the boat high...
I did some calculations, and worked out we covered just under 32km yesterday and used 35L of fuel. And I thought my clubby was thirsty!![]()

sounds like you had an absolute ball in the boat.
but you still havent answered the question. did oyu get a PWC licence at the same time? =P
oh and any "action shots" from yesterday?
Nah mate, I didn't get a PWC licence. I don't have access to a jetski nor will I in the near or distant future.
No real action shots, just these:
I forgot to take one of it sitting in the water which was rather silly of me. Might head out for some fun on Sunday so will remember then hopefully.
Did some boating today. Basically launched and then cruiser up the coastline until I found a beach I liked, landed and chillaxed at the beach.
The awesome thing was that the beach was VERY difficult to get to from the road so there was sweet all people. Just a few boatloads who had the same idea as me.
Pick of the boat from the beach.

So I'm getting a new prop for the boat this weekend.
I got a 17 and a 19 with the boat. The 17 was alloy and the 19 was SS.
I am going back to the boat place and he's going to swap the 17 over for a 21.
I find that the 19 has plenty of go out of the hole even 3 people on board and will be fine for towing a donut/skier.
So I'm looking to get a 21 to edge out a bit more top speed from the Evinrude as I know it's capable of more. Revs very easy with the 19 atm.
The other news being that I had the tacho set up a bit wrong. Didn't realize boats are not the same as cars and set it to 4 since the engine is a v4. But.. it turns out the alternator is a 12 pole and therefore the tacho should be set to 6.
In short, tacho has been reading 6000rpm when the engine was only doing about 4000rpm.

Sooooo... few interesting developments.
1. Turns out my future father in law is a bit of a spaz and the SS on the boat was the 17" prop and not the 19"
2. The boat dealer didn't have the 21" prop for me as promised when I went down. So I grabbed another 19" but a difference shape as a spare. Get it home, loose on the splines... FAIL!
But, on the plus side. I put the 19" I had on the boat, sorted out the tacho and went out today Awesome, simply awesome.
At WOT the engine was sitting on about 5500rpm and we got up to 46mph (74kmph). Also, the hole shot was still very good and it took maybe 4-5sec for the boat to get on plane.
So yeah, good times.
Oh, pic:
