    Default The Shaggin Wagon

Ok, here's a thread on my WB panel van.

At the moment I'm sticking a VN 5L and auto in it. I'm at work now so these are just a few pics I have on photobucket. Updates will be slow and at random, as spare time is a rare commodity between the mrs and kids, and working full time night shift.

    As it is now:

Currently running a VP v6 and auto. Messy conversion, but everything works:

    The donor car. VN:

Need to get it back on the road so bodywork will be later rather than sooner, but I want it matt black and lowered from it's current 4wd height, maybe widened stockies or something. See what happens...
Also gonna get rid of the WB front for a H-whatever frontend I come across. Preferably twin headlight.
Will also be chucking the VN LSD under it as well, once the engine is sorted.

And for those interested, here's a couple of pics of my Toranas.
LC. Currently in the shed with no front end under it.

HB. 99% original. I'm the second owner.

LH. Been in pieces for about 5 years or so now.

And a bonus panno pic just because I can

    Enjoy

Hahaha, once I get this going I'll be back into the LC and I'll start a thread.

Hey Ari, how you reckon the van would look in argyle?

It's not bad considering I straight swapped a VS Acclaim for it...

    ...That I paid $700 for

Cheers mate. It looks better in pics than it is. Not to say it's bad, but it needs some minor body work.

The LH isn't an SL/R 5000 either, it's only a 202 in the second pic, which the exhaust gives away. But it's a factory 253/4 speed SL/R, which is the next best thing...

Looks like a fun project for sure. Be heaps better with the 5 litre in it, they don't set the world on fire, but they do everything they need to do. The first thing i'd be doing is getting rid of those hidious WB front panels and tail lights...

Hahaha they'll be going too, but I've only got Torana pattern wheels here, no HQ pattern.

It would have had GTS rims on it in a flash if it was mine lol.

    Slowly making progress.
Got a couple of hours in today. Front end is off (obviously ) just gotta undo the engine mounts and gearbox crossmember and it can all come out.

    Looks like a good project.

    And I agree...GTS rims FTW.

The HB looks like a beauty. My folks had one the same as our family car when I was a little tacker. When that got bent they upgraded to an LJ.

Yeah the HB's all standard. It goes as hard as you would imagine a 1969 4 banger auto would go

Pulled the panno engine today. Found CRS conversion mounts, something else to sell off

    Couple of pics

Not much of an update, hoping to pull the gas tank etc out if the rain ####s off. Part of the fun of working in the driveway.

But I did pick up a set of these in 17x7 all round to replace the centrelines at a good price. Pic is just one I found, waiting on them to turn up here.

    Happy now Ari?

Love the LH. Always wanted a SL/R 5000. Just love the sound and tough look.

I know that feeling, I sold my 308/5 speed hatchback when my daughter was born. #### I regret that. I like the old school look of those wheels. I'm not a fan of real big wheels on old cars, they're about the max I would go, and that's only cause the panno is big enough for them to work.
