    Default New project vehicle...

So, afteer driving the Corolla for awhile as a DD instead of the Jeep it started getting a bit of a rattle in one of the drive shafts. So, it went into the mechanic only to get told the issue is with the transmission. There was no way I was going to pay $1200 on a 98 Corolla that doesn't have any luxuries.

It was decided to just buy another car. So, after much Saturday car shopping we drove out with this 99 Subaru Outback

After much Sunday driving....I decided that this vehicle wouldn'tbe my DD instead, it was my new project car.

This coming weekend we are going to take it off road a bit and do a photoshoot for it. Will post some pics then.

Stay tuned as this little Subaru gets the Kings touch I have some plans for this little girl.

Suburu outback in the states, that sounds hilarious. Keen to see what you do with her Yankee doodle. :P

Why ? with all the GM Muscle over there and you buy a Subaru I'd be looking for something like an ol'turbo Buick Riviera.

Why not I say! Besides, American made cars are programmed to fail after 7 years. Imports aren't. Also....it was good deal!

It's in the shop at the moment getting it's knock sensor replaced ( i konw could replace it, but why bother when they will do it for free) and a wheel bearing replaced.

    Mods currently being considered:
CarPC (already commenced work on the PC itself)
CAI (the front scoop doesn't do anything. It's actually blocked except for a small 3" X 3" hole
    Tuned Exhaust system
    Reprogammed ECU
    Dual Battery system
    roof mounted driving lights.

My wife and I are trying to figure what plates to get for it. I can have upto seven letters on it.

    DWN UNDR
    TRU BLUE
    AUSSIE

    any other suggestions?

Yeah the Xenon globes are cool.. My mum's MG ZT has got em.. Annoting, but good..

    Dual Battery system
    roof mounted driving lights.
WTF is a car pc? Do you mean put a personal computer inside the car? Cuz if it's what you mean, it sounds truly awesome..

Just a thought, only sayin cuz you're the 12voltking.. Have you considered a different alternator setup instead of 2 batteries? An extra alternator (I guess you'd have to find somewhere to bolt it and possibly need a bigger belt) or even getting a better performing alternator (tweaking the current one or getting a better one)..

And are you doing the ECU yourself or just getting a Dr. Bob equivalent in da US of A to do it?

You ravenous muttdog, this forum is a very tolerant and open place.. There are Ford, Toyota ad owners of other makes of car, other then Holden..

    FFS..

Plus, he's unfortunate enough to live in the States, where there's a dearth of Commodores..

hey, shounak, car pc is like desktop pc in your car, only much smaller, and mainly for music and gps, dvd/video aswell, you can surf internet, prolly more useful for 12voltking overthere, i hear they have good wireless internet, where here, its mostly in the cities. you can set it up with your mobile phone, all sorts.

www.hakhawk.co.nr ive got one in my wagon, www.mp3car.com/vbulletin

those guys are nuts, so many awesome pc installs there
