well, picked up the beamer today. its pretty crap body wise, but lots of stuff i can raid off it. doesnt run, missing heaps of bits, ignition module, coil, fuelpump, among other things.
its almost fully optioned, power steering, aircon, sunroof. no lsd(wheels spin opposite, still gotta check diff casing for an "S" though)
pics time

dad finished swapping the fronts over today, but just before i left for work, we were looking at the differences between struts, and found this. the silver ones shock shafts are massive compared to the red ones. asked on a bmw forum, and found that theyre bilstein sports series shocks, plus one score for me. the rotors are all barely used tho rusty, same with pads, but one rear wheel is missing them, so ill get new pads all round anyway. control arm bushes look in pretty good nick, we think they were done only a few years ago.

more fun today, started attacking interior. did a bit this morning, til it got hot, lazed around, then did some more as it cooled off around 7.
red one, floors good, drivers side rail mounts need fixing(common problem ive read)
ripped all the soggy sound deadener out and the carpet. will attempt to remove the tar off the floor to save a bit of weight, then go buy some marine carpet and lay down on it.
theres not alot to take out for weight on these things unless you go dedicated track carand remove door trims, centre console(which weighs 2/5 of stuff all, so its staying in) back seat(which is also fairly light, not much to it),etc.
speaking of rear seats, on the base, every point where 2 springs cross is greased from factory to stop squeaks!!
silver one
has 220kph speedo, so im keeping that, along with any switches and crap i might need. swapping the seats into the red one, as theyre in better nick. floors rusted out under the carpet(glad i didnt choose to keep this one)
pics will be slow as crap right now, but internet resets tomorrow, so ill be at full speed again.

had a bash at taking some of the sound deadener out tonight. bloody easy it was. front half just needed scraping, rear needed a bit of heat persuasion, but came off with ease aswell.

Hey, these little cars rock!
Ive had three of these E21's over the years, and think they are a great little IRS sedan.
Yeah. the 323-6cyl has a lot of bigger parts, including the diff and axles. THey have a rear swaybar and bigger front swaybar. They respond well in the understeer detpartment with a Bigger/second fr s/bar, and a strut brace And the diff's wear hard, so you might want to upfrade the oil.(fyi).
If you need any parts- just pm me! (16's, spoilers etc)
And aparently the V6 fits well in the engine bay- hint hint! A guy did it in QLD, tho i dont have pics.
