yep,the time has come for me to buy another car, and this time, something different, a 1980 e21 318i bmw

ok, so its not really gonna be another project... just yet.

for now, i will get it registered and dad will drive it to work and such, as a daily, and i can rehone my manual driving skill in it, as none of the commodores in the house are manual.

just going to clean it up, fresh lick of factory red paint on it and maybe some nice wheels. still undecided on lowering it, as its irs and the wheels already sit on a fair angle, and well, it looked quite good on the road at its current height.

will drop a different motor into it next year, turbo,unsure what yet, i have a few ideas though.

now for the bad, the rust









cracked dash, doesnt worry me, but ill replace it if i find a cheap good one, and not too bad interior, need new seats though.




stone chips galore, will give it a fresh lick of the factory red later on



dash and wheel, the wheel had a red pad on it, looked crap. gotta change the wheel anyway, grips getting loose



engine, 1.8ltr bmw m10 i think, mechanical injection, dodgy pod filter, extractors fitted at some stage!!
i whacked a new dizzy cap, rotor, leads and plugs in, runs 10 times better than when we picked it up. will drop some fresh oil and filters in it next week

Ah common man, all this crying you made over the rust, I expected it to be bad not that pussy little bit. My VP will be rusted worse than that in another 5 years :P, you need to hang out with some vintage car guys that rebuild a whole car from half a door

won some smoked indicator lenses on ebay the other week, came from germany. they turned up today. look pretty bloody good i think. cars behind the shed for now, til i can get time to get some parts and start fixing the rust.

got a new battery for it today, its a pulse sealed battery, tiny thing it is!! even starts the vp without missing a beat. it will get moved to the boot when i get some more power wire in at work

stock bmw battery, bout the same size as a commodore battery, compared to the pulse

lol, the most it will get is a set of 17" silver mags, chrome wheels look crap, and its going to be as much of a sleeper as possible

well, just won some spare parts for the bmw on ebay today, because thats all this cars gonna be good for.




$150 just gotta go pick it up, its a 323i, so has bigger brakes all round and bigger front struts, twin headlights and grilles, hopefully good taillights, maybe some good sections of metal i can cut out and weld into bad spots on the good car.
