Hey guys, just thought I would share my little project with you all. I have had her on the road for 3 years now, but spent about 18 months building it.
I’m sure there are better gemini’s out there, but this was a personal stepping stone for me before I hit a more serious car. I have done everything myself!! Everything was done out of my garage, with my own two hands. Everything from paint, wiring, supercharger setup, interiour trimming, tranny rebuild, exhaust, diff setup.. LOL.. I think you get my drift.
Model: 1979 Holden Gemini, TG update
Colour: Green
Body: 18 month restoration, detailed engine bay, hidden wiring and a few other little changes
Engine: 3.8l VP S V6, with SC14 Supercharger running. TB in front configuration.
Exhaust: Custom extractors, 2.5” exhaust, 3” dump.
Gearbox: T700 4 Speed Auto, B&M Mega Ratchet shifter, Stage 2 shift kit, Hi energy bands
Diff: VL turbo, 3.45 LSD, custom axels, full adjustable diff tilt and offset, reinforced floor with link points and tail shaft loop, Custom race spec tail shaft,
Brakes: VL Turbo rear, VT 1 ¼” fast fill master cylinder (firewall mount), twin piston callipers on the way for front.
Suspension: Lowered pedders and nolothane bushes all the way round.
Wheels/Tyres: 15” steel interceptors, 2pack micro silver
Interior: Re trimmed interior in VZ cloth, Late TG dash conversion in 2k black, super plush carpet, custom made seatbelts, no centre console to make room for shifter, Rev, Temp, oil and boost gauges… Oh and lets not forget my in car race camera mount J
Stereo: Sony head unit, JBL speakers (I like the sound of a roaring engine instead)
Other Mods: SOOO many more, id be here for ever listing them all!!
Future Mods List:
A bit more boost!
Performance: So far on 205 50 15” rubber, un tuned on 2.5psi, she has run a 13.6 @100mph, 1.8 60ft. Will probably do a better time on slightly higher tyres as she was running out of revs… but im wrapped with that time.
Also taken her to the Spring Car Nationals , and finished in the Go to Whoa finals both years, qualified 30th out of about 200.. mostly V8 monsters, so that was nice
On the street.. Oh BABY!!!!
Let me know what you think...

Anyone in Qld with a Gemini V6 they want to sell, would prefer one with ECOTEC conversion ..........

Glad you like it guys. I get a few people who are a bit weird with the colour, but I dont's mind it. I was unsure of what colour to do it, and while eating a pack of m&m's one day I thought.. hmmm, this green dosent look too bad, so I got it colour matched
B&M shift kit was about $120 or something, bands were $30 each, and then pump kit & seals were another $80 or so (it was a while ago now). I added a trans cooler and some nice fluid at the time, so id say it was around 300 at the most? Still running the standard servo, dont want shifts any firmer for now, but might need it once the boost goes up.

Got a soft spot for the Femini as I had one for my first car. Nice one
A bit of an update. Just finished putting on the front brake upgrade. It now has slotted VT-VZ gold rotors, new 5 stud hubs and VT-VZ twin piston calipers with, the VL turbo rear brakes and the VT 1 1/4 master cyl.
Took it for a spin, and boy does it pull up nice. Did a few hard stops from just over 100km/h, not even a hint of brake fade.
Also, a 6psi pulley is on the way thanks to stocky.

nice gemi, my sister used to have one just like it, minus the mad engine set up of course. Always dreamed of modifying it, she sold it before i could get my hands on it
*UPDATE*
Smaller pulley is on, and now hitting 8psi . I have installed a malpassi 1.7:1, but she is still pinging once the engine bay heats up a bit. So I have had some flanges lazer cut, and in the process of shopping for an intercooler.
She goes MUCH better with more boost!!!
Also, I thought I would add some pics of the brakes (gemini vs VZ commo), and once again, sorry about the mobile phone pic quality.

This thing looks awesome, well done. What does it mean by TB in front configuration. Cos it looks like a normal setup on the throttle body. Keep up the good work.
maybe you need to change the induction setup a bit so that the pod doesnt suck in quite as much hot air from the engine bay. will be interesting to see how intercooler piping will go in this engine bay
