None of the above. Staying as is, it's nice the way it is. It'll be a cold day in hell before one of my cars has an LS1
I'm selling all the 355 stuff to fund the Hatch, then i will be buying an LH/LX sedan to build as a daily (infact, i might have already stumbled across an LH sedan, but i'll see how that goes) however, that'll be after the hatch is done.
lmao, ahhh ok, so going to stick with the original stoke gear? Just a 'freshen up' rebuild.? Drivability will remain, and fuel economy will be untouched!
Will the next one be a V8? Or do the 6's suit the smaller size of the Torrie's nicely?
Not even a rebuild. When i say staying as is, that means exactly how it is now. The motor was a relatively low K engine when it went in and it runs nice. So, if it ain't broke, why fix it?
Next Torana will be a Chev, no 2 ways about it. That's why i'm trying to source an LH, no pollution regs means i can put whatever motor i like in it. Having said that, if i find a tidy LX for the right price i'll buy one.
Ohhh, my bad - remember seeing the other block get machined up ready to go, thought it was the one in it, not your spare!
Ahaha, that's what we're talking about. By the way, we need moar pics/updates of your other Torana!
Are HQ's exempt also, think Ari said they might be?
A bit off topic, to put a 454 Chev into a HQ. Actually might P/M you to save filling your thread up![]()
Na, that block is for sale now.
There will be updates on my other car shortly. Had a bit of other stuff to do last weekend and this weekend, so not much has got done. I'm planning to spend next weekend on it, so you'll have to wait a bit for an update.
Yes, HQ's were made prior to ADR 27a (pollution regs) which were introduced in July 1976, so you can put whatever tickles your fancy in it. 454 in an HQ? Don't be scared to ask questions here, i don't mind, it's my thread![]()
Just a little update, over the Christmas break, this car will be getting Air conditioning. I've sourced a complete working kit (well, a whole car actually) so i thought why not? It'll be nice actually, it's already got power steer, so A/C will make it a bit more comfortable. It will be a bit of messing about fitting it to the injected engine, but i think i can handle that
Stay tuned for updates...
i was thinking of sticking the impala with a nice AC, got the compressor to go with the 454, so thats a start.... kinda.
