Damn your crazy with your wires and such.
I wouldnt have the pateince to play with wiring looms. Let alone make a new one!
    It's coming along nicely though.

    Cheers

well it officially runs, had it started for 20 mins today, got it revving kinda nicely, (wasnt hunting etc) but i fouled the plugs when i left off the fuel pressure regulator hose by accident.

ill just clean the plugs for now, perhaps replace them before it goes to the dyno

Lukes comming round tommorrow so we should have it running alright by the end of this weekend

anyway another update: i've done some datalogging and cleaned the spark plugs off, runs alot better now. not what id call great, car is shaky from vibrations and running rich but it seems to sit @ 1000rpm without complaining too much. its idling @ 13inhg (should be 20)

My main goal here is not to make a awesome tune, infact ill be ensuring the turbo dosnt come onto boost on this tune, my only goal is to get it to the tuners.

i took a quick video but my iphone decided to make it upside down.. ill get one later.

using my narrow bandto tune at idle, actually works well, as long as it stays on the green side under acceleration i dont care

fuels look good now on idle but its still got a nasty miss, (really puffy exhaust) plugs were a little fouled. i might clean plugs again and try adjusting some settings for the ignition.

YouTube - 7mgte running on haltech

    YouTube - Haltech diagnosis

im pretty sure coils 2 & 3 are in the wrong firing order,

afr's look good sitting between 14-15, give it a week and i reckon she'll be running pretty good

UPDATE: swapped the plugs for coils 2 & 3 and it runs lots better

    Lots :P

    ill try to itemize
$2500 actually buying the car with a broken motor
    $700 Suspension
$500 other rwc items, brake lines, centre bearing etc etc
$6000 rebuild, headwork, machinging, fluids seals etc, nothing was left untouched, but thinks like oil pump etc were inspected etc
    $1300 turbo's, oil lines etc
    $700 clutches
    $700 ecu,
    $100 wiring/wiring equipment
    $400 interior swap
    $300 intercooler setup
    $400 manifold
    $900 3" exhaust
    $1000 fuel system
$400 first cometic + arp fastners
    $400 second cometic(thicker)
    $70 front end respray/panel work
$200 extra body items /misc shit..
    $150 spare motor

    Total round $17k
to date, still have the body work to do, needs wheels and springs and might stick a new gearbox in it

They're a awesome car if you have the time and money, lots of potential. if you even think about cutting corners it will end in disaster. i think the best thing for most people would be to do a 1jz swap, half cuts can be had for $2500-4000

i plan to keep the car for a while anyway, they're still worth a fair few $$, decent ones still go for as much as $12,000

On other news, i've dropped the fuel tank out, replaced the fuel filter (bastard of a job) removed the stock pump, im selling my bosch 040 and putting a walbro in instead because the 040 wont fit in the hanger. ill take some pics when im done.

does he have a 1G, 7m or 1jz? diffrent story for each motor, i've got all the supporting mods to make good power, thats where most of the money went anyway.

    UPDATE:
Fuel pumps installed, fuel tanks back in car and i replaced the fuel filter which is a bolt on type PITA!

All i've got left to do before tuning is change the oil & filter, work on the tune a little (i have one that will limp me to the tuners already) also change the rear gearbox seals and retop oil i've lost so i dont shatter a gear on the dyno and Bazinga, im done

Hi good to hear you have your car going. I've been following this thread for a while. I know owning a supra is not a cheap car to have but still good to hear you are still working on it.

    Cheers

Cheers, its in the final stages atm. i think im almost done just fine tuning a few minor things.

confirmed im dropping it off at the tuners on the 21st, fuel pumps in and working, just a waiting game now however i think id rather have more time up my sleve than be rushing.

few glitches here and there, couldn't get the idle valve working so its set via a screw in the throttle, car runs.. a bit rich hoping it will make it to the tuners (before fouling the plugs completely) , if not i guess ill give racv a call and get them to finish the job.

fixed a few oil leaks, last thing not working is the oil pressure gauge in the dash (not so important) and coolant temprature (dash) ecu coolant temp works fine. road speed sensor logs to the ecu however i need to take it for a consistant drive not just a few laps round my backyard. im fairly confident its nearly done.

stay tuned, shouldn't be far off a result.. good or bad.

well car gets tuned on wedensday, i've managed to wire up the idle valve correctly but i cant seem to make it work, ill leave that to the tuners i guess.
fixed the oil pressure gauge in the dash and water temp in the dash dosnt seem to work, its wired correctly (maybe the gauge is dodge)
i can view the water temp via the haltech for now so its no big issue but id really like to fix it. installing new plugs before i go down and everything should be sweet.

i noted the K's at the time of the rebuild and now the car has 4900km since the rebuild which should be plenty

UPDATE: drop the car off tonight, fixed the dash water temp sensor too! only thing that isn't working is central locking but i can sort that out later. fitted new plugs, removed the stock bov, idle valve is moving its self but isn't configured properly. the tuner can do that.

UPDATE.. Again: Cars at tuners, will have a number tommorrow!

ok guys, there is a bit of bad and good news,

Bad first, had ignition issues on the dyno and couldnt get the full tune done...

    Good news!
Found the issue! my alternator decided to pack it in on the way to the tuners! and my vac lines were retarded (vac leak!)

now fixed the vac lines, he did the base tune and one power run!

    8psi boost 209rwkw (284rwhp) @ 5300rpm, power was not even starting to drop off @ 5300rpm!
im really happy with the result @ 8psi.

THIS IS NOT A FINAL PRODUCT, just a mid tune power run but its showing promise! Afr's are 11.5:1 and SFA timing too!
Yellow results are my car, Green results is a comparison against a 1G-GTE in similar specs

Cars booked in for 2 weeks time to have the tune finished once i fix the alternator.

I've fixed the alternator issues. The Miss still exists,

I tracked it down to Interference on the trigger signal, there have been RPM spikes in the logs...
i checked the wiring/shielding, all appears good, swapped out the Cam position sensor with another i had and didn't see any rpm spikes in a short run, need to do further testing tonight. i've got another issue now... the plugs are fouled

Hopefully that should have fixed the issue. ill know for sure tonight.

Cheers, its still got issues and with some more work/ironing out of issues it should make more, "freeboosting" it only made 17psi MAX so i've got a issue

    Graph time!

    Power run

Boost, Notice it spikes to 17 and drops to 16 where it makes peak power

backed the car off to about 12/13psi now, clutch slips at the top of 3rd gear and any power im making dosn't make it to the ground,

    the clutch is 5000km old

Talking to Jim Berry, he said the gearbox im using is the same as the one in the tarago, the pressure plates are weak and no one makes a decent one apparently, he can whip me up a super dooper one using a BMW M3 pressure plate but its alot of money to spend on a N/A gearbox, it still a 225mm flywheel after all

By all rights it should be about 250-260rwkw at this, until i can afford to replace the gearbox with a R154 and a special clutch to hold
