    Hehe cheers,

Lately i've been driving it, boosts around 14-15 psi and the clutch stops me from loosing my license (slips at the top of third so i cant go faster)

Been concentrating on making the car nicer to drive.

Fixed the heater, Fixing the Cruise control
Also just booked in at the exhaust shop to add some more mufflers, its too loud at the moment :P

im considering fitting one of these bad boys

I think the unsprung single plate will be not as nice to drive but its 1/4 the price of a twin plate and should hold my power/torque (supports 600rwhp)

The spec clutch guys reckon its their top single plate clutch and its tough as guts, but also not very street friendly. still means I need to find a 240mm flywheel.

what do you guys reckon, should i repaint the car or keep it white?

next on my list is lower 1.5" and 17" rims... along with that my top speed in inadequate, (around 200km/h)
i think im going to end up needing to go faster than that. not to mention a set of longer gears will help the lower gears build boost, apparently there is a spacer in the diff which breaks, and according to my mate with a 260rwkw 1jz mines shagged

Another issue is the sub frame seems to crack with power, mines still in 1 piece. lets hope it stays that way.

I've been doing some tuning over the last few days trying to eliminate a fuel smell i've been getting on idle

looks like my correction map was incorrect

    1st - as it was,
Red is AFR, higher = richer lower = leaner
Blue Coolant temp (from cold start)
    Green injection Pulsewidth (ms)
Notice how the Afr changes with the coolant temp?

2nd attempt - adjusted the coolant temp correction map, its alot better but still not flat, im aiming for 600mV~ consistently

the car already doesn't have a un burnt fuel smell on idle but I'm sure i can get it better, It's funny how much factory stuff that's in the standard ecu that we take for granted.

Cars booked in at the exhaust shop next Tuesday to have another muffler and a highflow metal cat fitted. (2x mufflers)

Some more updates, Hooked up a clutch switch for my aux rpm limiter, pretty much launch control.

Still havn't got the idle valve working, tested the valve on a mates 1jz today and it worked fine.. so the haltech or the wiring is to blame

got the car back from the exhaust shop, its got a big ass center muffler, a magna flow cat and a decent sized rear muffler, its whisper quiet on idle and is alot deeper. under the legal limit now and quite nice to drive.

Some progress, pissed off the clutch fan and replaced it with a electronic thermo connected to a PWM output, works good.
    sounds 100x better

Borrowed another haltech to test my idle valve, loaded the tune and idle valve adjusts, same tune on my haltech doesn't

Gotta send it back to Haltech to get repaired now, could mean the cars off the road for a month or two but atleast ill have a working idle valve. Pics to follow.

OK so the cars officially off the road, posting the Haltech off tomorrow and should have it back in 2 weeks all fixed and with a working idle controller.

the cars looking a bit sad under a car cover right now... still waiting on funds to replace the gearbox / clutch, i figure why stop at 400rwhp, with low 20psi's I should be-able to net 500rwhp (380-400rwkw) i imagine that's where the fun will start

I'm sick of the suspension, its a bit soft, i imagine the stock springs have seen their day (22 years old now) Found a shop in hallam that sells king springs to suit, 30-35mm drop which is perfect as i don't want its ass to hang on the ground, im not too scared about the stiffness of the new springs as the dampening rate is adjustable in the shocks, im still yet to devise a good method to control this..

i opened my bonnet after a week of sitting, i found out why its not a good idea to park a car on grass for a extended period of time... every things rusted even alloy... spent all last night scrubbing rust off things.

i want some wheels like this in 17s/18s, probably 17s for the tyre profile

Here's an picture of some of the rust

    Lots of long grass

You thought about going coil overs for the suspension, bit pricey for a decent set but may be worth while if your going to hit the track?

From factory this car has coil overs front and rear...with double wishbone front and rear

you mean height adjustable coil overs, having driven a few cars with them i can honestly say i do not want them. ill have better hope with traction using the tems system and some slightly stiffer springs. Currently i have slight traction issues with 15" pizza cutters making 300 @ the rears i think that's pretty good

my mate who has coil overs struggles to put down 260 with much wider tyres (its a 1jz)

i'll be on the hunt for a gearbox very soon

Wow didnt realise your supra came with TEMS! Quality of adjustable coil overs varies so could be that he has an average set, still I prefer my standard shocks & springs with TEMS only thing is I was told replacing the shocks with ones that will work with TEMS is more expensive than a decent set of coil overs... at least for the soarer's (my soarer also came factory with TEMS).

Still some awesome figures thus far! Keep the updates rolling

Cheers mate, The soarers had way more tech than the supra's. im impressed with what they had for 1991!

usually yes, i used tokico illumia 2's (aftermarket shocks) bought them 2 years ago right when the USD went down the shitter and it was pretty much 1usd for 1 aud, cost me $550 to my door for 4.

The tems system is pretty cool, with digital dash makes you feel like your in starwars!

On other news i bought a R154 gearbox $1400 worth (ouch!) its the turbo manual gearbox my car was supposed to have, this opens up the world of twin plate clutches to me. Havnt decided on a clutch just yet and a decent single plate is still on the table, this will be a expensive month

Ripping the gearbox out tomorrow to sell it, on the road a total of 3 days again :P good news is i can run full boost on the new trans setup and put down some serious black stuff

after the gearbox is done ill be sending it back to trent from status and bump it up to 20psi! and get the idle fixed while i'm there.

looking into replacing my cooler piping atm and maybe inter cooler (for a same side outlet one)

This is what im looking at now, retail is $2200 but my contact says he can get it for $1800, Strapped twin plate clutch rated at 900ft/lb which is at the lower end of the power handling but also apparently is a lot more drivable. this has been a expensive month

the wirings a mess, previous owner wasn't the best at wiring.. i've been improving my haltech wiring, adding in a few plugs so its all "plug and play" if i ever want to revert to stock ecu, also so it comes apart nicely like factory, new dash isnt cracked like the old one which is good

some bits were damaged such as the dash and console lid, picked up a new one for cheap! so i've adopted luke's philosophy of "while it's out" alot left to do !

i went for a different clutch, os giken ts2cd (twin button carbotic) It's all hydraulic. makes for a light clutch! rated to handle 1100ft/lb of torque.. so more than i can hope to throw at it.

clutch should arrive tomorrow and ill get my new flywheel bolts as well

Well still lots of work that needs to be done, while the dash is out i'm fixing alot of things that have always been broken.

    Fixed:
    Ciggy ligther socket
    Reversing lights
Botched wiring for alarm (i removed it)
    Mouting for haltech
Headunit wiring (used the original loom wiring)

    Things Left:
Get a twin switch for the clutch pedal (for anti lag/two step)
    Clutch switch to Haltech
Clutch switch to cruise control module (to fix cruise control)
    Reinstall dash cluster
    Install clutch
    Install gearbox
    Install tailshaft
Remove turbo & Seal compressor housing then reinstall.
    Fix steering wheel

After that its ready for the 1/4 mile

So i finished up my wiring, Found the gay annoying reverse beeper and unplugged it! no more truck reversing noises now.

    FIXED:
    Removed reversing Beeper
    accessories wiring
    Under dash wiring
    Mounted haltech
    Installed dash
Made a facia for the boost controller
    Installed push pull converter
    Installed new release bearing
Made a new release bearing clip

    Left to do:
Remove Turbo & Seal comp housing with RTV
    Install Clutch
    Install Tailshaft
    Install Gearbox

I've got under 3 weeks before I'm taking it to the track. I hope i can finish it up/overcome any issues i might have in time

Pics of the interior to come, gave up at like 1:30am lol. lost track of time.

its fkn neat under the dash now. looks factory!

    pictures

Clutch assembled! lotsa bolts on this baby weird that the pressure plate is black

it's 3000km old but there is a little surface rust on the flywheel because its been sitting for a while

Push pull converter installed with a new release bearing.
