how deep is the corrosion? I find it hard to tell from the pics. I pretty sure there isnt much difference between 7mge and 7mgte but we stopped doing m series heads due to too much dramas with warpage and corrosion. I see worse everyday though wouldnt take 5mins to fix that.

heads in the machine shop getting decked/valves cleaned up, the "corrosion" is just oil mixed with water thats been sitting too long and made a sludge :P
theres the normal carbon build ups aswell
im fitting some quallity gaskets and head bolts so i dont see this being a issue again, maybe a rebuild down the track with a bullet proof bottom end

looks like they were driving it around with a blown hg for a while... looks better now its cleaned up, your cooling system will feel much better once its flushed out... might pay to get a proper flushing agent.

alot of ****ing round with the 2J, these things have tons of wiring, sensors telling you when your engine does anything,
so far ive cleaned up the bores and scraped/sanded the block and its dead smooth (and heads dead smooth) waiting for my MLS headgasket i should recieve on wed/thurs, then it all goes back together, so next weekend it should be all back together, running is another story,
bstillens stiffened up the front end heaps
anyway, i havnt got photo's but its getting there, cleaned heaps of stuff and took the cooler piping off and gave it all a clean / polish, going to need to replace some of it as its not big enough :P
and the FMIC is ok but no where near big enough!

Looking good..........speaking of gaskets, my old mans one tonner blew a manifold gasket, got that fixed to find out it had blown a cylinder or two.
Instant V6 conversion anyone?
Got any big plans for the supra?

as it stands
step 1
get it working again, bog stock, 5psi boost stock cooler and register it
step 2
add boost controller Boost it to 10psi, redo cooler piping replace stock bov (can leak boost at anything over 10)
step 3
add a boost cut defender, bigger FMIC boost to 15psi
step 4
fit bigger turbo, fuel pump (ive got a GSS341 walbro), maybe add a rising rate fuel pressure reg / maybe new turbo manifold & 550cc injectors + 1UZ AFM (i have the afm already) and boost to 20psi
then if it breaks or i get bored and decide i want more boost, ill build a new bottom end.. and run 25psi
still 20psi should be good for 400rwkw :P plenty of supra's out there with the same engine running that boost daily
