Just posting up my new toy... my dh mountain bike!
Well I ride it and this is the "My Ride" thread right
Anyway,
Its a 2003 DaBomb Mindbomb frame with 2005 Bomber Z1FR3 forks, a ****ty rear shock which I blew the other weekend and am shopping for a replacement, it had Hayes NINE hydrolic brakes with 9 inch disc. Shimano Deore XT derailers (9 speed).
Great fun... it takes a fair beating and loves it... had some big wipe outs around Eastons Cutting... Stopped myself mid air with a tree last time out which kinda hurt.
Oh yeah... pix...![]()
Looks good.
orange walls look sweet
Bike Corp in Springvale. Osborne ave just off Westall Rd (next to/on property of Canterbury Widnows) u want it, they'll have it.
Im not 100% if they are direct to public though. I used to get **** from there for my old pushie. (coz dad works next door)
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
Interesting... thanks for the heads up
EDIT:
Just jumped on their site... they don't really do suspension there... thanks anyway
Downhill... yeah probably... got upto 52kmph on the fire track at eatons cutting...
Tell you what though... downhill at eatons with anything but disc brakes is crazy...
Most my mates have 6 inch discs.... but by the end of the day they are suffering brake fade cause the rotors heat up so much... Mine love it and go strong.
Looks good.
I have a 2004 Avanti Barracuda hardtail.
Yeah people, bikes do come with hydraulic disk brakes, mine has them too.
Was actually thinking about getting a second hand Avanti D8 as a downhill bike.
^^^ Sweety ride... I don't know why but I find hardtails hard to control under brakes on a rough trail... Though they're alot niced to control in the air...
Nice!!!!
Now time to upgrade those brake calipers to those 6 piston HSV units....![]()
LOL, yeah something like that...
Nah... the 9 inch disc are the biggest you can get... atm If i even look in the general direction of the front brake it grabs hard...lol
Learnt how good these brakes are the hard way... lol
Got a new Marzocchi ROCO TST R Coil shock coming in from Canada!!
Pretty pumped... should be out and hurting myself again by next weekend!
Shock is in and mounted... feels pretty good... might have to look into a stiffer spring but other than day... happy days!
sweet ride ,how is it with out a chain guide??
i should post up pics of my single speed and my bmx when i get time
ALPHA MIKE FOXTROT
Yeah I've never had the chain come off riding.
Not much pedaling downhill though... :P
No and then it skips a tooth over rought terrain... but nothing to worry me.
Jesus christ boy! That thing probably cost more than your car!!!![]()
Looks good.
Maybe I should buy a new bike. None of mine have discs. CBF spending $500+ though. My bikes are fine. Get me from A-B, and they cost me nothing.
Still envy my mate and his dad though.......with their bikes which probably cost in excess of 1000 bucks.

me and a few mate's from skool are making a recumbent bike ( two wheel's front one rear) atm it just need's brake and gear line's hooked up and it's finished it's freaking sick as to ride it's so fast :P cant wait to take it up to mount tamborine one day haha
Eureka styles!
Yeah I haven't been riding in ages... not even just for a ride around for excercise...
I did some damage to my back last November-ish and its kept me from anything that is impact of puts strain onmy back...
Back is almost come good now... can't wait till I get back to Eatons Cutting... after some heavy rain.... eat some mud!!![]()
why dont you go for the brembo 6 pots? if your talking brake power! they actual make em for mtb, i remember seeing em somewhere.
nice to see some people with cars ride, i've got a NS Suburban with 318 argyles and all kitted up for DJ.
Yeah...
On my last bike going down one of the back trails at arthurs seat I had a pedal fall off... and this was on a big open downhill big so had loads of speed.
Needless to say that hurt... also was motivation to get the new bike... lol
Brembo 6 pots for a bike? thats abit over kill...
These ones are already very grabby... and done fade... not sure why someone would need that much braking power... unless whey weight like 200kg... but even then the tyres wouldn't have enough traction to make use of that grab... lol
LOL.
Gesus.........how the hell can a pedal fall off!?!? Did the thread come undone or something?
Talking about riding...........I was doing skids in the wet today.Lol, its lame, but I don't drive (well not by myself) so sideways on my bike is good enough lol.
