Uhm, how do I upload photos, do I have to host them?
I was hoping I could just upload straight from my computer.....
Finally I've bought myself a car, so now I can make my own My Ride topic. Lol.!
Picked her up today, (21/09/08)
1984 Holden WB One-Tonner
202 3.3 Ltr Straight Six Blue Motor.
4 Speed manual floor shift.
Very original, and only 225,000kms.
Needs some work, (manily rust repairs) but yeah, havn't been able to start her yet, I hope all the running gear is in good nic.
I'll add more as I go along.

host them on photobucket mate, much easier as the forum has a limit on the size of your photos if you upload them as an attachment
no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone
Ok then, will do, thanks for that mate.![]()

nice man. First thing, drop the sides and back off that tray will look much neater
no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone
Yeah, I know, they look better without the sides usually. Plus, once I polish it and get all the splashed cement off ( prev owner was a bricklayer) it'll look good. Thanks for the comment mate.
For now, I'm gonna leave the sides, and just do the things that need doing, like a drivers floor pan - lol - when we went to have a look at it, my dad lifted up the mat - and we could see the green grass underneath the vehicle LOL.
Reminded me of those "little tikes" cars we used to have, where you sat in it, and pushed it along by using your feet (like walking) LOL. Freddy Flinstone Much?
So yeah, first I gotta clean up the interior, fix up that floorpan, dads ute needs a new windscreen, but it'll probs do for mine, so maybe we can get that put in mine, just with a new seal. First I'll get the rust around the cowl panels fixed, as well as the few other small bits and pieces.
BTW, What do you reckon it's worth, just going by the pics?

Nice one dude!! I'll keep an eye out for it around your area!
Nah, she's not regoed mate. (Sitting at the top of my driveway, so you'll see her when you go past) (Did have rego before I bought it, but then, in technically it didn't, bit of a story really)
I might as well tell it then - The bloke who owned it before me, had a HZ Tonner before he sold it and got this one. Instead of registering this one, he just swapped the plates and rego sticker from his HZ onto it.
LOL. And his other one was a V8 and everything, and a 1978.
Bit of an idiot really, his lucky he didn't get done, or worse still, involved in an accident, what with the windscreen being badly cracked in a few places, having a commodore wheel on the back, and approx 30x30cm hole in the floor pan.
Haha. That's people on the Rye peninsula for you I guess. lol.
But before he got it, it had been sitting in a garage in Mt. Gambier for 10 years. So, would've been a very orignal vehicle with low kms and great condition.
But anyway, she'll still clean up really well.![]()
Was gonna get her started today, fixed the battery leads (the terminal connections were buggered, maybe why it's not starting, might not actually be anything wrong with the fuel pump) But Maccas rang me up, to work. Oh well.![]()

Great pickup.Rust is so common in these things, get onto rare spares as they have floor pans and the cowl panels too.Dont bog em up just replace the metal, otherwise it will come back to haunt you. What plans do you have for it anyway?
Thanks mate.
Yeah, bog em up just makes it worse. I gonna get the rust cut out, and fresh stuff put in, and smoothed over.
Not entirely sure ATm.
I might stick with the stocko WB front ATm, and maybe put a WB Statesman bumper on it (classier, more style) and respray the grill (some of the paint has come off around the metal frame, so will look better repainted.
For now, I just wanna get it going well, and all up to a roadworthy standard. SO just get the rust and everything fixed.
After that, I'll start playing around with it.
Lower it a bit, stock black wheels on the back? Chrome mags on the front. or just stock black wheels all round, OR, mag wheels all round.
And the bench seat in it, isn't bad, but it's not really the best, part of it has been fixed up, and it's like a green colour, the rest of it is brown. So it looks crappy. I got a whole statesman for parts, and a another pair of bucket seats I can use as well.
and, of course, I'll take the tray sides off when I don't need em on. I've also got a back ladder bar to suit it. I wanted to put it on my dads hZ, but I've got my own now....
So probs put a centre console in, with some neat buckets. And a good sound system. reckon I'll keep it pretty original.
What do you think?
EDIT: Oh yeah, and gonna put more chrome on it too!!!!!! lol

Not bad at all.Love the two spoke steering wheel - our 'tunna has one as well, though ours is a black one.
Holden didn't like steering wheels with spokes back then did they? :P (I'm assuming you guys have seen a VB - VH SL/E/VK Calais wheel)

Oh yeah, had to go to the wreckers today to get a brand new carby fuel pipe (goes from carby to fuel pump) coz the other one was leaking and broke when we tried to fix it. Bit of a rip off for $30 but at least it's brand new and genuine holden. ANd just wanted to fix it, rather than mess around to get it a bit cheaper.
Asked how much they usually charge for a WB stato bumper bar, and was shocked to hear $770. Couldn't beleive it. Only way I'm gonna get anything for this thing is if I get it cheap from someone who's wrecking one, or preferably, if I buy a complete car myself, and strip it down. Use the parts I want, and sell the rest to get my money back + profit.![]()
Didn't much like the idea of stripping down a stato or whatever, but gotta be practical.

I can grab some pics of it if you want - its not really mine its actually my parents. :P Nothing special though - its stock as, cream, 14" stockies, blue 202, column shift traumatic with effed reverse gear, ten and half thousand year old Pioneer AM/FM cassette player (the old-skool type with the knobs on the sides!) with one remaining speaker, busted ass cassette deck haha. Still a good car though, just a shame its not mine. :P If it were mine I'd probably replace the old 202 and traumatic with an Ecotec (i know its sacrilege, but V8s are too expensive!) and 5 speed manual, Stato front end, maybe some nice wheels, decent stereo (read: one with two WORKING speakers and an AUX input at the very least :P), and probably a WB Stato interior.
Don't get me wrong, its a great car, and I love it, it was the first car I ever drove when Dad taught me how to drive on the farm back when I was 14 (first car I ever actually travelled in actually, my parents have had the thing since new, and its the car I came home from the hospital in on the day I was born), and it was the car that got me into cars in the first place. I just think it has a bit more potential, thats all.
I'm not at all surprised at how expensive those WB Stato parts are, when you take into consideration people doing up old Statos, and people like you who want the parts for other cars, there's just not enough parts to go around.Maybe have a look at your local wreckers, or the trading post or whatever and see if you can get a rear-ended Stato cheap that you can get parts off - not to mention that stripping a crashed Stato is better than stripping a good one!

My dads tonner has one of those too, I reckon it fits in well, where looks are concerned, but god, it sounds crap lol.
Used to only have one speaker, but we fixed the other one up.
And Mine has one too. Has pioneer speakers at least, but I think they're **** anyway. Later on, once its all fixed up, I'll get a new one for it.
What model is yours? WB?
Yeah, I have to agree, I hate seeing mint statesmans getting wrecked, or even ones that are in good nic.
But yeah, I'll get one, cheap, and strip it. Might do a few, just any HQ-WB, preferably Statesmans, Sedans, Wagons. Cheap.
If I'm lucky, I'll get the mag wheels I want, and any other bits and pieces I may need or want.

Oh yeah, and today, finished connecting the new fuel pipe, and the bastard leaks at the fuel pump now. LOL!!!!! Only a tiny bit but still.
But meh, I'll get it fixed, maybe might just have to undo it, and straighten it out a little more.

There is a guy on eBay that might have some one tonner parts left from wrecking one or two.His name is LOWHJ.He is my brother but we dont talk so dont tell him where you got the info?He is in Tulla.
Ah, sorry to hear it mate.
But thanks for the info anyway! Appreciate it!
Got a ladder bar for the rear which I might put on it. My dad and I picked it up for free at least 6 years ago or something from a bloke down the road, he was gonna throw it out anyway, and it's the right one to suit, so thought why not.
I wanted to put it on my dads, but it would get in the way for him. So its goin on mine now. haha. The joys of having your own car to play with.
Might just give it a good spray first - satin black should do it.
Anyway, took out the matt and all that stuff, reckon we got to the passenger floor pan just in time. Should be okay, looks fairly solid, no actual holes yet. So that just leaves the drivers side.
Cleaned up the interior a bit today, just cleaned the dash and the door trims, looks so much better lol. and vaccumed the floor.
Next on the list interior wise is take out the bench seat, so I can give the cabin a thorough clean. Then, I'll just bolt in a bucket seat for the drivers side. That way when I take it to the panel shop, they can just take it out if need be.

Haha, yeah...I like the look of the old cassette player, and all Dad needs a stereo for is to listen to the ABC news (ugh), and my parents don't want another stereo, so sadly the old Pioneer has to stay, haha. But with only one terrible speaker, it does sound horrible. I ran my iPod through it once (and only once) using my FM transmitter. Despite the fact that I had decent music on, coming through that one terrible speaker, all I could hear was some horrible noise coming from behind the seat that sounded something like the music I had playing. For the record, yeah, ours is a WB.
Like I said, you might want to try and find an old Stato thats been rear-ended or t-boned (so long as its not too far gone), that way you'll have an entire front end to get parts off, and you won't have to worry about stripping a decent car that someone else could put to use!
Either way, enjoy it - I've always wanted an old Holden of my own to screw around with.![]()

Everyone does stato fronts, and I don't think this ute is really worth putting one on. It looks fine with the kingswood front.
I got a good HZ one, complete with overiders, but they're shape is a bit different to the WB.
Are you 16 too?

Actually, I'm 23, but due to my situation, still living with my parents, and got no bloody job. (the joys of living in the country) Thankfully though, I should be graduating from uni next year, which is when the fun will really begin.![]()

Nah, just the joys of living in the country. :-/ Problem is, I can't afford a car, and around here there's absolutely nothing as far as jobs go, and I'm stuck in this hole till I finish uni - even Maccas here gets to be fussy with who they want working for 'em lol. Oh well, one day.

My dad gave the ute a quick clean on the body today, came up a treat.
(I slept in, and was appreciative, yet slightly annoyed, when I woke up to find my dad cleaning it. I wanted to wash it myself lol.) haha. Was just hanging out till I got a car cover for it.
