smokey, the suzuki rgv

well since i sold the car and my beloved postie i thought i would post the last registered ride in my shrinking fleet (also have a honda dirt bike, but cant ride that on the road so it doesnt count).

this is my 1989 suzuki rgv250r 2 stroke, bought it 2 years ago for $750 unregistered and a bit worse for wear, it was bought as a project that i was giong to sell after i finished it, as i already had 2 bikes, but i guess i just forgot to sell it,

this is why it cost $750


then i gave it a lick of paint




after that i got it registered, and chuck a sticker kit on it
then did a burnout to celebrate

didnt like the look of the white wheels so i painted them black



was happy with how it look, so i did a wheelie to celebrate

with my mates 2 nuggets, gixxer 750 and R1

and finaly with my much loved postie,


for a pretty old 2 stroke bike, it has served me very well Has close to 70thou on the clock, only done basic servcing, change the front tyre, chain and brake pads, i started riding it in turns with the postie to keep the k's off the commodore, not really to save fuel cause this thing drinks like a fish, 140k's from 12 litres which is close to what the commodore was doin.

lol, yeah there pretty cheap
the vj21 models (89 to 92ish) go for a low as a $1000 with rego and fairly good nick, there the ones with the exhaust either side like mine
the vj22 and 23 (they have both pipes of the right hand side) which go to about 98 would go for about 2 grand, for an average one, 3-4 grand with a newly rebuilt motor and very good nick.

nah will be forsale in april, with 11 months rego

sold the postie for $1375 with no rego, and i paid $650 for it 2 years ago, so im hoping for a similar story with this one

your surprised??? how do you think i feel??, i almost sold it for $500 a week before but the buyer didnt want it,

the postie didnt even cost me that much after owning it for 2 year, thats including petrol and green slips etc

well smokey is going to her new home on sunday sold on ebay for a nice $2045, went on one last ride down through the RNP down toward jamberoo and macquarie pass then to robertson pie shop. anyone the wants an awesome ride/drive that isnt too long, i highly recomend it.






bit sad to let her go, but heading to europe in 3 weeks, so there should be plenty of mopeds to ride

well its all gone pear shaped, the kid did his research on the bike after bidding, and what would ya know, he is on his L's and the bike isnt not learner legal, his mum rang me telling me this as if i didnt know it wasnt learner legal,

so ive offered it to the next 2 bidders, just waiting to here back from them, but the kid understands that he has to come get it if i cant find another buyer

nah ended up been a little bit lower, which isnt bad, cause its still more then i paid. and i didnt have to relist it so im happy about that,
