I thought i might post up a real turbo 6 thats gives most commos a run for their money. This is basically one of the first e series turbo's done about ten years ago. It's on Ford forums but as most people arent signed up pictures cant be veiwed.
Anyways its basically a stock rebuilt motor running a tricked up btr 4 speed auto (on its 2nd one since he's owned it) and a 2700 stall.
It's got 4.11's and a lsd which is being upgraded to a lokka soon as lsd doesnt seem to last long.
Runs nolathane bushes pretty much all round with slotted rotors and ebc green stuff brake pads. Sits on stockies with hubcaps and custom widened rear rims done by Ajax wheels in moorabbin.
Runs 4psi of boost and makes 162rwkw with a big fat load of torque all the way to 5000.It also makes peak power from 2800rpm all the way to 5000rpm so its pulls like a freight train.
Even me being a holden fan must admit having driven this its seriously quick and a ford that has defenitely earned my respect. I've done abit of work personally on this car myself helping turn it into a sleeper. It's also had a bit of weight stripped out of it including sound deadning
A turbo upgrade to a to4z is on the way and 10 psi over 200rwkw and 800-9000nm of torque is expected. Unfortunetly the ecu (EL stock ecu) is limited to around that sort of power and boost. So in future it will be getting an aftermarket ecu.
Anyways Picture time
Note picture one is of kris in granny spec. The rear shot show my skills of a twin 1.5 inch vacuum cleaner exhaust tips (fake) real 3inch dumps just behind rear wheel.

no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone
no hasnt been to drags and he doesnt have a gtech. I have to say its not quick to 100 as wheelspin is a major issue hopefully the lokka will help fix this as the lsd tends to change between twin and single pegging (makes it scary to drive too) it was only rebuilt 8 months ago.
i expect it does somewhere around mid to low 13sec quarters

they're such bulky cars tho, id always prefer a commodore over a ford for this fact. but having said that the ford i6's still have alot of potential..
Man this is awesome this is exactly what i wanted to do to my old ED. mine was a manual though. that was a sleeper in it own way. ran 15.6 down the 1/4 with the only mod of a 4 inch pod filter and the head light out lol.. for that run though had rooted rear control arm bushes so lost alot of take off. but yeah i did plan on putting a turbo on it.
bring back a few good memories of the odd race from the lights upto the speed limit again many a unsespecting hoons in there droney dungas lol
love the black intercooler.
thats a cun7y car lol hope i see it on the road some time
yeah i saw a ed just like this near my place last week. completely granny spec. the lights went green (ed heading towards me, im waiting for it to go pass so i can turn right) and the guy driving it didnt notice so i got impatient waiting and moved forward a little, the driver realised the lights had gone green, grannied it until he was just about to pass me and then planted it... cue loud engine roar followed by tsssshhh! my reaction was WTF haha. completely unexpected and suprisingly cool. i cant look at eds the same anymore now haha

Cheers For the comments guy i'm sure he'll appreciate it The dressing up made that picture.
Its been a long time in coming as he went overseas for 6 months b ut its all coming together now.
VKC thats a typo but it will be within that range when finished He's aiming for about 450hp to start with that should put it well over a 1000nm
Ricky the good thing about Au motors is they have MLS headgaskets from factory.
Though this motors been rebuilt has forgies with machined bowls to drop the comp a little full balanced bottom end au motors also have 4 bolt main setup similar to ecotec. Has turbo cam ported head (flows about 30% more than stock. Jp high volume oil pump vernier cam gear and all your other parts replaces. Unsure what valve springs hes running but definitely not stock.
Got a surge tank in the booot i made with 044 bosch motorsport fuel pump. Massive oil cooler, twin transmission coolers 3 inch (5 inch outer) 100 cpi race cat and 3 inch exhaust with one muffler. running same cooler as one in 1st post
Got quite a few thikngs to yet. I got to make intercooler piping. Fix snort shitty "stage 5" turbo manifold and also mod theyre quite piss poor inlet mainfold i'll be welding some trumpets on it and generally cleaning up the poor casting
