Gday Everyone....
I have started watching some NASCAR races and Marcus Ambrose is doing really well.
Its good to see another Auzzie doing well in an American Dominated Cup.
The last race in the DOVER 400 and JIMMY JOHNSON (Car No.48) WON
Great race by Ambrose finishing in 20th in car No. 47 has been finishing consistantly all year.
Because the lenght of the race(s) is huge ill try my best to give you a good review....
I watched the POCONO RACE 500 on Mon 08/06/09 3.30am FOX 3
After 13 of 36 races Ambrose is in 20th -248pts with Tony Stewart car no.14 1st on 1853pts.
It was a Nice suuny day with great track temp, chance of rain in afternoon. 200 laps
Pit Window are between 32-36 laps and a pit road speed limit of 55mph
Ambrose starting on row 10 and was well suited to this track because of its one of the widest tracks in nascar for ambrose and his road racing style.
After 05 laps Johnson leads and Ambrose 20th -4.292 behind leader
After 21 laps Johnson leads and Ambrose 21st -3.875 behind leader
After 29 laps Johnson leads and Ambrose 18th -16.882 behind leader
After 36 laps Johnson leads and Ambrose 18th -19.976 behind leader
Edwards car no. 99 Leads race after 40 laps
After 53 laps Edwards leads / Biffle Car no 16 2nd / Johnson 3rd / Ambrose 16th -24.257 behind.
On lap 77 All cars Pit, the leader Edwards has a fuel stuffup (mistake) when in the pits and diddnt fill up properly.
Not filling up the tank coming up short may effect him late on in the race.
When they all settle down again on lap 82
Edwards leads / Biffle 2nd / Johnson 3rd / Ambrose 16th -33.232 behind.
27 cars are still on the lead lap with 8 cars -1 lap down / 1 car -2 laps / 1 car -22 laps and 5 cars DNF out of race.
After 93 laps Edwards leads but will have to pit early due to pit fuel mishap.
Biffle 2nd and Johnson 3rd with Ambrose still in 16th position look good.
After 102 laps Edwards is forced to pit early giving the lead to Biffle But a caution on lap 104 saw all the cars pit.
When Johnson pitted be came in to hot passed the pit entry cone redlight was on still pitted
copped a penilty and started at the rear of the field at the restart. 24rd position.
After the restart on lap 109 when they all settled in by lap 110
Edwards leads again with Kenseth car no. 17 2nd / Stewart car no.14 3rd / Biffle 4th / Ambrose 12th and Johnson 24th.
After 120 laps Kenseth leads Edwards 2nd / Stewart 3rd / Biffle 4th / Ambrose 9th -3.351 / 14th Johnson -5.033 behind.
On lap 122 Edwards takes lead from Kenseth.
After lap 134 Edwards leads the race 2.5 secs from Stewart 2nd / Kenseth 3rd / Biffle 4th / Johnson 6th / Ambrose 14th 17.464 behind.
Johnson in 25 laps has come from 24th position from the restart back to 6th has passed 18 cars and Ambrose lol nice work...
With 43 laps left a caution lap when out and cars pitted rain starting to fall lightly.
After the caution and with 30 laps left in the race we have a new leader.
Tony Stewart who started the race in 43rd position last on the race track in leading with
Edwards 2nd and Johnson now back into 3rd WOW plus last years winner Kahne car No.9 4th with Ambrose 17th -8.711 behind.
19 laps left Stewart leads / Edwards 2nd / Kahne 3rd / Johnson 4th / Ambrose 13th 14.461 behind.
29 cars on the lead lap 5 cars -1 laps / 1 -2 laps / 1 -4 laps / 1 -17 laps / 1 -22 laps and 5 cars are DNF out of race.
CHEVY TONY STEWART WINS POCONO 500 from 43rd postion
Carl Edwards Started in 9th Finished 2nd
Marcus Ambrose Started in 20th Finished 6th AWERSOME JOB...... he drove a great race just needs a faster car....
Jimmy Johnson started in pole but finished 7th
Juan Pablo Montoya started 13th finished 8th the EX-indy Racer.
Greg Biffle started 7th Finished 11th
Kasy Kahne started 14th finished 15th last year winner...
Cannot wait to see Ambrose in the next race..... Auzzie Auzzie Auzzie Oi Oi Oi lol

lol great review. I only get the cut down ver of the Sprint cup - the 1 hour highlights. I think J Johnson run out of fuel on the last lap going down the back straight.... Ambrose was 7th with a few laps to go and next thing he's up to 6th. He will shine at Watkins Glen as it's the road race - not just turn left

Montoya in 3rd currently started in 7th and has been as far back as 18th in the CHEV.

After 150 laps we have are First car incident with D.Strimme (12) Dodge going into turn 4 losing the rearend near the wall sliding down
the imbankment onto the grass blowing a front tyre and slamming into the barrier near the enterance to pit lane out of the race big smash.

Who has the fuel to finish the race the one who conserves field best will win.....
J.Johnson has dominated the race leading 142 laps / Biffle has lead 35 laps and Jeff Gordon who started the race
at the rear of the field is now in 5th position and 6 seconds behind the leader.. WOW great effort...
10 laps left and Biffle is running low on fuel and has only 2 race wins in 12 races at Michigan since 05 is still leading the race with Johnson right up on his bumper.
Go Go Go great battle.
Johnson leads with 6 laps left but Biffle still in it hanging on but with 2 laps to go Johnson runs out of fuel and now Biffle is leading the race, then Biffle runs out of fuel on the last lap
and now Martin leads the race..

The caution flags was alittle disappointing to a great race would of been nice to
have all geen to the end but well done marcos ambrose...

but with with pit stops and hitting the wall he when as low as 37th
But currently he was 5th with 70 laps to go.
Was driving a very consistant race.. doing realy well...
With 26 laps to go AMBROSE has a big crash.... REUTIMANN was tapped from behind
and smashed into Ambrose right front side taking them both out....
