Default Jesus christ!! When are hrt going to wake the hell up????

How many times are we going to witness HRT losing races IN THE PITS, before they SACK the USELESS WASTES OF SPACE the have in there swinging the spanners??

Seriously, my 12 year old son could do a better job than these clowns....

Engines blowing up, wheels falling off.... What is it going to take to get these useless pricks SACKED and get some people in there who actually have a clue.....

Their pit crew has cost them the championship for more years that I can recall, and they're supposed to be the experts! Jesus, we see Triple Eight jump into brand new cars and blitz the paddock - Why?? Because they have their act together!! I can't stand the fact that those pair of faggots are driving Holdens now, but at least their pit crew have their heads screwed on properly.

HRT - you're a bloody joke - and a very bad tasting one as well. If I had my way, you'd ALL be looking for a job - from the top down.

Pack of bloody clowns.... Couldn't organise a root in a brothel.

HAH!! Yes, as usual I've been a little restrained....

Immortality - good one, but I'm afraid I don't get it....

As far as Clowndes being Holden at heart - as far as I recall, when he FIRST went to the "dark side" people were banging on about how he was a deep down Ford man - apparently a GT Cortina parked in his garage or something... (???) I just wish the tosser would make up his mind. (oh, as well as Bright, Bargwanna, Ingall, and several others who don't spring to mind right now...) I was under the impression that a good proportion of this form of the sport was "allegiance" and "loyalty"....

(although I couldn't be happier that Dumbrell is in a Ford this season! LOL!!)

Although I guess with the fans, I've found quite a mix of those who are loyal to "the badge", compared with those who align with a particular driver or team.

Heh - and Shane - if HRT ARE just about broke, it bloody serves them right. They've sure as hell been wasting a lot of money paying those knob-heads, so tough. Screw 'em.

The main trouble is, if 2010 is just going to be another season of "the Jamie and Craig Show", then I've lost interest already I'm afraid.

HRT have been having financial problems for years. That is why Skaife sold it back to Walkinshaw (i think that is what immortality was getting at) the only four guys that actually know whats going on in that team are the two ***n awesome drivers and the two engineers...the rest are a bunch of idiots. As for lowndes being "holden" at heart, the wank went to ford for the big pay rise, The king and HRT tought him everything he knows and he threw it in their faces and signed on the dark side. Whincup is without a doubt the best driver V8s have seen in a while, to come out first race in a brand new car and win is very unlikely.
I love V8s but it isnt really about the cars anymore, same engine, same tyres, same gears, different shell and little bits here and there that are different.

Yeah, part of the issue these days are that they're "controlling" everything these days; motor, brakes, fluid, wheels, tyres, etc. However the bonus to this is that is basically puts it all down to the driver and their pit crew, cars are on a level base and it comes down to skill.

ya gotta admit tander was really unlucky when one of his air-jacks sunk in that expansion joint or whatever it was that made a pit crew member manually jack up the rear of his car, and lose the jack handle, and crawl under it without some form of stands, and send garth to the back of the grid.
a few inches parked back or forward and it would have been one less shermozzle for hrt that wkend, i would have thought one of the pit crew would have spotted a strip of silastic in the middle of their pit bay as wide as ya foot but anyway.
i'll say this much about dumbrell, anyone who sees their own brother get paralysed for life in a formula ford, and despite that stays on racing cars for a living. has got some balls

Hang on, didn't Davison & Tander come 2nd & 3rd in the championship last year? HRT can't be doing too bad...In fact, IMO they are only second in the field to 888. They had a bad weekend this weekend, no doubt, but i think they are doing really well against a class act like 888. Can't blame the team for Davisons engine failure, engines are out sourced. Lets face it, that penalty for the pit incident on Tanders car was rubbish. They lost a wheel nut, that was the only thing the team did wrong this weekend IMO...

not likely, only the body panels changed with the relevant badge. everything underneath is still the same. ohh, they changed the engine block too

it was also the first time anybody from the V8supercar crowd have used this track so nobody has any info on setup for it. we will have to wait to the first regular race to see how things stack up properly, although i don't expect things to change much.

what i'm waiting to see is if 888 can get the same fuel mileage at a enduro with the GM donk like they did with there old Ford setup.

i wonder how much that wheel nut incident was created by the touch up at the start of the 2nd race?

The car was brand new as such, their old 'lol fords' were sold off complete, so it would have been all new stuff put into their 'holden'.

Also, there were 4 drivers who got to go around the track a week before the rest (albeit in a road car)

i have no doubt the stuff was new, but the based on there original systems. nothing new in design i bet. the fuel system, engine management, transmission and drive line, suspension componentry (although probably different pick-up points) brake systems. even the cage woulda had some basis from there previous car. sure the engine is new but they don't seem to have lost anything there either. so a new chassis but i bet if you got there old car there would be a lot of similarity between the 2. there are to many control parts to differentiate the makes except for body panels and badges. in reality the base chassis only makes up a very small portion of the race car and 10years of knowhow doesn't disappear with a chassis change and with operation blue print the aero side of things doesn't change between makes either

a drive around the track may help learn the course but isn't gonna make a huge difference to car setup

Shells, that's the V8 supercar difference, and the only thing that separates them.

Good old days going back into the early 90's you had teams hiding covers over their engines from other teams, don't let them see what small mod we have done here they might copy it. Today why bother it's the same shit.

In all honesty ford/holden the v8 supercars .does anyone really care
common rear end (no it is NOT a ford product as ford no longer make 9 inch parts)
a gearbox that is common to both
a chev engine (not available in a road car )
a ford engine (not available in a road car )
front suspension is common to both
front splitter is almost the same (from memory it was tested in a wind tunnel )
the only thing these cars have in common with the brands they represent is the turret and a few panels !
the series is as boring as bat $hit
and it is only going to get worse when ford scrap the rwd falcon and bring in some pos euro/usa fwd trash
lets get back to some real world racing .......maybe even still keep it holden v ford BUT let it be back to homologated specials .............back to the real world
lose the technology let the drivers learn their craft NOT be force fed electronic data

do not really care who wins or loses in this cockeyed series its just more of the same boring racing !

Some people may find it boring, and that's fine no one forces you to watch it, but for me it's the only thing on TV worth watching. I still love V8 Supercar racing.....Even if it is only a badge and shell that's different. Atleast it's not like F1 & NASCAR where all the cars even LOOK the same. I HATE F1, so i don't watch it, simple really.

V8 Supercars are a work of art, those engines make me drool everytime i see one.

I agree with the majority here.
15 years ago I would also been frustrated with the HRT pit crew. But I honestly don't barrack for a particular badge any more - because that's all it is.

Carbon fibre gaurds, quarter panels, doors - full race fabricated chassis, the trans tunnel is the only original floor panel retained. No factory driveline or suspension components. V8 supercars are fast becoming stock cars, not the production based racing that was always the attraction of the series.

Even the latest millions they wasted on advertising with the bimbo teenybopper popstar 'Pink' - has little if any relevance to the actual series. It's marketed at teenage girls. The racing is stuffed, it's now more of a sideshow. I hardly even follow V8 supercars anymore, it's a disgrace compared to the days when Brocky piloted a VC-VL Commodore that could have almost been road registered, even had the back seat and full dash retained. That was the motor racing I loved.

    Quoted for absolute truth.

I really don't care that all things have been standardised. I still love the sport. Still love the racing.

...and will continue to watch until all the stuff I find interesting dies out

I used to watch every second of every race but I think because that was a different time and everything has changed I'm no longer interested. Maybe if you grew up with how it is now then it's ok. That's another valid point. I do quite possibly only still love the sport, because I never knew it as anything else really.

I watched the Daytona 500 on pay tv the other day.

Watched the V8's on pay sunday night.

NASCAR wins. I always figured it was crap, not worth watching, driving around in circles 'woo-hoo'.

But that was the third or fourth race I've watched from start to finish and its the bomb!

    Couldn't agree more.

As others have said, v8's to me have become boring. It's more about qualifying than the race as how often do you see someone from mid-pack actually win compared to NASCAR where they can will from 43rd.

Bring back the days of the mid 80's to mid 90's when the racing was actually exciting.

    Just my 2 cents.

F1 boring. not this season and F1 cars are nothing alike, yes they may copy stuff from other teams but each puts there own spin on it to suit there car. they can even have a different wheelbase to the next car as long as it falls within the minimum and maximum guidelines (V8supercars take note) the engine freeze does suck. i don't really watch Nascar but they do have awsome engines.

i certainly still watch V8supercars but it's not as interesting as it was 10-15years ago. the only race i really pay attention to is Bathurst and thats because my man Murph is going to win this year and Skaife will be up there with him
